Hi all, The wife and kids and I wanted to go for a drive somewhere with the pop up van and camp for a night or two either out to Bondoomba Dan out Proston way or up Teewah beach But with the holidays in full swing and everything booked out and people everywhere, we thought why do we want to go join in on that shirt fight, So we put it up in our back yard as we have 2 acres, will light a fire tonight and we have not got to put up with no bugger, Besides its just a bit of a shake down so I can fit a few led lights to the van and start packing light things in it for my trip north at the end of the month, Craig

Great idea! My son loves camping at home.

:cup: Good one CT, be able to see how you go for condensation inside the rig at night now things are starting to cool of a bit .
Ive got a mate that drags his camper trailer 10 minutes away from home with the family to a couple of the local caravan parks for a few nights every month or so to camp by the river, Just for the fishing / fire / few drinks and a change of routine .

Thanks D4D, its just a bit fun, as everywhere is so busy at the moment, Craig
Thats a good Idea edz, I will leave it up for a few days, Craig

Change is as good as holiday. ;D

At least you wont have to worry about what time they close the amenities block for cleaning, as I imagine the cleaner is on holidays too.
-
If we had a space for it we'd be doing that all the time. Used to live outside by the firepit, don't even have a spot for one where we are now.

Yes it is
Yes thats right.
Yes great fun by the fire,

The backyard was our camper's first destination when we bought it. I think it's almost a rite of passage
-
I envy you Craig.
We live in the inner west of Sydney, among the basket weavers and chardonnay sippers, on a block of land which is just 270 square metres. And that's a lot bigger than most in the neighbourhood. In our back yard, if I take the lid of the Webber, two people have to go inside!

i picked our camper up from the dealer and headed 200klms North, straight from there to a friend's birthday party on their property....camper got seasoned that night as it rained, luckily it only leaked a little through the canvas. Can't say I've slept in our camper in our backyard, though i have set it up for overseas guests to sleep in, aswell as my daughter to have her friends do a sleep over in it for her birthday.

Hi Tryagain, Yes thats right, and good to sort the bugs out with them, with no one looking on, Our ten year daughter has been loving sleeping in there, I need a porta loo and a couple of things if we hit the road in it with the wife and kids, Craig
Gee Keith that is a tiny back yard, but your yard is properly worth twice as much as ours, Craig
Hi RP, Thats a nice way to chrisen a new CT, Ours leaked to for awhile then it took up, Craig

Re the condensation problem in the coming colder weather . Rig up a fly that covers th camper leave a gap of about 100mm and you will find it helps greatly

Hey Craig,
We bought here when it was a lot, lot cheaper, probably as well all did. But our kids are the only ones in the street to go to a public school which I hate. Go figure.
The bloke next door used to pay his kids an hourly rate to study and paid a contractor to come in and wash his dog. I'd love to be somewhere where families can camp in the back yard.
Treasure it mate.

I often setup the camper or swags in the backyard for kids birthdays or just to sleep under canvas.
