Title: Birdsville trailer parking

I am sure one can, but still have to asked.
Where do one park, safely, a trailer at Birdsville if you want to cross the desert without it.

You can leave it at the Caravan Park but nowdays they charge the full daily rate for it :(  Used to be only a peppercorn rent but the council has got greedy.
Don't think there's any other option..
