I have done the search, have found references but no explanation as to how.
I've tried the bucket and yes it does work, but nor well.
I can also remember someone being anxious about putting the rope in the family washing machine, and getting it done before someone else arrived home.
I am interested in whether you just dump the rope in, or put it inside something else (suggestions welcome) to wash it, and get the job done.
especially with the metal tab on the one end and a metal thimble inside the eye end.

Search on here 🤔 Was done a few years ago. Works well :cup:

It works a treat, wrap the hook in something soft and away you go. Just make sure you time it with the small window of opportunity when the better half is out shopping >:D

You can also throw it in a wash bag or pillow case to stop it getting tangled.

Thanks GG, & D4D.
I did search, obviously I didn't ask the right question at the time.

Send Paceman a PM. He's all over this kind of thing!

How often should you wash your winch rope? Or do you always do it when you shampoo the bullbar? ;D

I was hoping someone else would help with that info.
To my way of thinking, You'd only wash it when It gets filthy.
It's getting coated with dust and road grime where it is any way.

I just chucked mine in a ‘delicates bag’ and washed it our washing machine (front loader). If I remember correctly,I didn’t use any detergent (just water) and did it while my wife was out ;D
