Whats the name of the Van park North of Alice Spring  that everybody raves about  ???

You're not thinking of Gem tree are you? A lot further than 20km though.

Here is an alternative, Hale River Homestead at Old Ambalindum, or an extra spot to stay and still go onto Gemtree
