Murphies law at work right there .. At least it will be fairly easy to Jerry rig the axle back under it with straps, ropes and a couple of trimmed bits of scrub timber .. [ Nice of Jayco to put oval slots in the chassis X beams to tie into ] to limp it back to Bulwer

Looks like one of those rubber independant axles.
Guessing the camper is used for the yearly Christmas trip to the island. Looks oldish. Wonder how much attention it gets in between trips?

Dont forget safety checks before you leave for holidays.
This happened today on Moreton Island..
Bit of detail.
Moreton island today. Old mate was towing a pop top with v8 100 series. Extremely soft. Had two utes infront towing when the axle tore off. He admitted later that he’d uses gal bolts (bunnings) to replace the old rusted ones. Took a concerted effort and 3.5 hours to refit. Nearly tore the tow bar off the cruiser.

Yep, its a great trailer. Had it for 20 years and it hasn't cost me a cent ;D.
Gal bolts?? Seriously?? ???

Critical bolts I get from 2 suppliers, none critical ones anywhere will do.
Supplier 1: Tractor, truck and general big things
Supplier 2: Independent parts place
Both of which have knowledgable humans working there, with decades/centuries of knowledge.

Owners, tyre manufactures and trailer parts suppliers must be getting better though.
I lived in Newcastle for 10 years, but had family on the mid north coast. Every Easter/Christmas holiday we would drive up and see multiple boat trailers or vans on the side of the road being piqueted by a rather pissed off wife or kid while the husband drove into Buladelah or Karuah looking for a wheel repair or new bearings.
This year I drove through to Brisbane and saw 1 trailer having a wheel changed on the side of the road....
Of maybe the higher speeds of the freeways and bypasses cut out the weak before they made it that far?

I recognise that trailer as a model in the Palimino range imported from the USA about 5-10 years ago by a company on the NSW Central Coast. Similar in concept to a Jayco wind up.
Heap of junk.
It's funny after reading the Patriot gas recall thread, this Palimino trailer caused all sorts of greed for the company when they where released at a Sydney camping show, the gas never would comply, the electrical and towing chassis components also where pulled up via the different regulators.
Not sure where the company ended up but obviously someone bought one.

I am suprised that there isnt any marks in the sand from the 4wds and then the axle popping out....... ???

There was a mob at loganhome flogging them too. American imported rubbish. They had really good gas fired furnaces though. I wonder if old mate needs his anymore.
