Camping, where you spend thousands of dollars to live like a homeless person!
-
Homeless person??? you haven't seen the latte' sippers around here have you?
-
Sorry Bird, must admit we do avoid the latte sipping big cities when we are away, lattes and Lycra are a bad mix and we get enough of that in Adelaide in Jan with the Tour down under.
-
I use this saying a bit, mostly as we are leaving the driveway or leaving camp to head home " What weve got, We go with -- What we Havent, We go Without " .
-
Camping is just an excuse to drink outdoors

Something very similar - " If we ( ain't got it ) have not packed it , we don't need it "
-
We like to sit back and say" I wonder what the poor people are doing"
-
We always say "its time to hit the road" good old russel coight ;D
-
Calories when camping don't count
-
It's almost never funny, but my mantra for camping is "2 is 1 and 1 is none".
And something I've learned to NEVER say - "I'm sure we won't need [insert item here] this trip..."

WHEN WORKING OUT HOW MUCH BEER TO TAKE...
YOUR BETTER OFF LOOKING AT IT THAN LOOKING FOR IT!!
-
When we are travelling with a few friends and selecting a campsite for the night we often use the phrase that "this looks like the place for a village".... also used occasionally (but not in the same light tones) when SWMBO needs the camper parked just so so....and after several different approaches to the site in absolute frustration I turn off the vehicle and alight!!!! By the way...that's where the camper stays until we are ready to move on be it good bad or level!!
-
"Let's go camping, It'll be fun..............."

WTF, you need an excuse to drink? :o

Our mates reckon the old bloke "scratches around like an old chook" when selecting the setup site. And also has been known "to get the theodolite out", also to select the perfect site, not an euphemism.

Camping without Grog,
Is just sitting in the bush.

Wonder what the poor people are doing today?
The reply usually is, sitting around a camp fire with good company.

Make sure "we have an emu bob " before we leave the site.
Means a thorough cleanup of small stuff...zippy ties, bottle tops etc.

Normally that's when we get home and putting it back in the shed, don't have much room to play

My commonly used qoute when sitting back & relaxing next to the camper is "how's the serenity" from everyone's favourite aussie movie.

As we're driving, it used to be "The trailer...", now it's "The van's still attached"

You're far from alone with that one. And when the cicadas are deafening or someone nearby is making a bunch of noise I like to scan the vista and add "not a sound..."
