Title: Kings now selling deep cycle batteries.
Post by: SEADOO on November 26, 2017, 07:29:39 PM
115ah AGM battery for $299.

I just purchased a 105ah AGM from Battery World for $359 on special.

Looks like Kings is coming up in the world.

Depends on the construction of the Battery/s.
I'd like to know they are actually comparable to an off road or marine standard.
That they won't collapse halfway through a trip, and leave you with a fridge of rotten food.
I won't be getting one, right this week.
I'd like to see how they stack up against the rest of the market/competition.

Hmm, comparing with Battery World?  Not the cheapest battery supplier by a long way.

They are expanding their range including selling the batteries, C Tek battery chargers and also Dunn and Watson fridge slides.

Coming up in the world on what basis?  Is it possible to compare the quality of the battery from Kings to the one from battery world based on the information you’ve given - price?  I find that proposal very difficult to come to any conclusion other than one is cheaper than the other.

Accordingly, to suggest that one is coming up in the world is particularly difficult, well for me at least.

I'd check out aussiebatteries.com.au. My oldies are full time grey nomads who don't go without any mod cons and they've been running 4 160Ah giant batteries from there for over 2 years with no dramas.
The 130Ah seems to be on permanent sale, I'd love to get a couple for my swan, but since the old boy gave me his old 100Ah gel to add to the one in my swan I'm having trouble getting the expense approved by management.

I would say that is on the light side for an 105ah agm, it must be chinese ;) Im pretty sure the 'better' batteries of that rating are up around 33kgs.

Wasn't to long ago the purchased Tigerz 11 and resold their winches, then it was bull bars and roof top tents. Now it's fridges, generators, light bars and a heap of other stuff. Now they are selling 105ah deep cycle batteries for less than $300.

That's what I meant by coming up.

More likely made in the Philippines... China's not that hot on manufacturing lead/acid batteries (including AGM, VRLA, etc) for some reason.  China tend to manufacture dry industrial cells (think forklift) that get filled with acid in their destination country.

We moved a lot of our manufacturing from Australia and New Zealand to the Philippines years ago, as it just wasn't viable to manufacture the product in country anymore.  And the quailty out of the Philippines was significantly better

A lot are coming from China now, we have several clients that import a full range of batteries including deep cycles. Have not seen one shipment from Phillipines, Supercharge used to source from Phillipines but not sure if they still do.
