Has anybody purchased a deep cycle battery online?
I'm concerned about warranty and postage to return it if anything goes wrong.
I have always purchased from places like Battery World, so I can take it to any local dealer if it requires replacing.
I am looking at purchasing a 130ah AGM deep cycle battery.

I purchased a Giant brand AGM from eBay 3 years ago. So far so good....
Price was right, no bad reviews of this brand and was delivered in less that 48 hours. It was supposed to come with a free watt meter fitted with anderson plugs. Got the run around saying out of stock, will be delivered next week. Then "its in transit" then "hasn't arrived yet? Okay will post another one" in the end I gave up and moved on.
Warranty. I took the risk and was okay, but generally the buyer has to foot the return postage bill for returns.
Having said all that my now 12 year old unknown brand 120ah agm purchased from Battery World (or was it Battery Stop?) Is still kicking on.

From a legal point of view, from elsewhere
You are responsible for returning small and medium-sized items, such as a watch or microwave, to the store or seller. If you bought the item online, this means you must initially pay the return postage, shipping or courier costs.
Once the store or seller has the item, they will assess the problem. If the item has a major or minor fault, you are entitled to recover the return costs from the store or seller.

I have bought 2 AGM 105 AH batteries online. the second was bought some 12 months after the first and I wanted an identical
unit to the first. the delivery took a while due to stock issues but it turned out well.
I paid for $239 delivered, BW $350.

I have also bought online before - 4WD extreme in ADL. Excellent to deal with. 1/2 the price of an equivalent rated deep cycle AGM that I could get locally - It was a no brainer. As to warranty support, well I never needed to go down that path. I still cant work out how getting the battery for 1/2 the price (comparing an SSB from ADL with a fullriver locally to be exact), and having it delivered some 2500KM's away works out. But hey, there you go. I am happy with the result.

Same here. Last lot of optimas we got were from Melbourne, delivered to Brisbane cheaper than the locals would do them. Strange.

mate of mine worked for a battery place down here.. theres quite a markup on batteries as you can see.
My concerns would be how long they had been sitting, and I'm tipping you'd end up losing your saving $ if you had to return it.
FWIW I've had great service from my localish joint - had 4x batteries tested, and a printed out report on them all - free... and I had a battery replaced few years ago and the terminal on the wire Shit itself while removing it at the shop.. the bloke there redid the whole wire etc spent about hour working on it, and no charge. I'm happy to pay him a few more sheckles every few years or eventually he wont be around to help.

I've used autoelecu on eBay for a few products including deep cycle batteries never had an issue with their products

As someone with no handy skills at all I tend to think the same way.
I am happy to buy some things on line but others I am wary of.
But I have to admit the quoted savings are very attractive.

Got a junk E-mail come through the other day...
Mob called Every Battery in Melb are flogging Pure Energy 130Hr for $269 or 105Hr for $249 Seems a reasonable price ( free delivery Vic ACT & NSW $10-15 for the rest )
Only used them for a couple extra camera batteries in the past, so no comment on quality or service regarding DC batteries
