G'day everyone.
I want to go away somewhere new but want to make it family friendly so I was thinking of compiling a list of local festivals etc that might be worth dragging the C/T and the family to.
Would it work if we had a thread of what was coming up in your local area that everyone could see?
I find that a lot of small towns have festivals etc that if you weren't driving through at the right time you'd never know about.
Some examples would be the orange festival in Gayndah or the watermelon festival in Chinchilla
(They don't have to be fruit related!)

That's a pretty cool idea; obvious ones that jump out at the moment are:
- Sawtell Chilli Festival
- Glen Innes Celtic Festival
- Parkes Elvis Festival
- Guyra Lamb and Potato Festival (Not really worth going to...)
- Tamworth Country Music Festival
- Bathurst 1000
I've not listed the Town Shows, but they're all through the years.
Hope that helps and fits in with your idea,
Ed

Next week you can go to AgQuip Gunnedah, https://fairfaxruralevents.com.au/agquip/about
I will be there doing the 26km of roadway, looking at the exhibits. Show goes for 3 days and I suggest you need 2 days to see.
Edit just notice your post Paddler Ed

Yep, I'm going on Tuesday... Missus isn't working, and I've told work I'm not working (but I think I'm getting sent with 100 of my business cards by the sounds of it...)

The trouble is though, that they are having a heap of trouble with squatters...

Where are you starting from & what range are you looking at ???
-
I'm on the Sunshine Coast, range would probably be about 1/2 a days drive I suppose. Just would depend on the event and the minister for war and finances interest levels.
But the theory is that everyone can have a look at this thread to see what's coming up.
