Title: CGEAR Matting
Post by: weeds on July 28, 2017, 03:05:21 PM
Is there any other options??

With the increase of 270 awnings in wanting an L Shape mat.

Cheers

2 rectangular mats can create an L shape :-)

20sec for my new one, no poles/ropes or pegs......we deploy it way more than our old one.

I did have a supapeg supawing needing poles and legs.......got pretty efficient in setting it up so long as it was for most of the day.

Hi,
I use shade cloth pegged out tight in sandy places.
It keeps sand down ok.

I have an oztrail mesh mat that seems ok.  May or may not be as good as Cgear  but without doing a major comparison how would you know?

works a treat for sand and dirt...

So what do you think of it?

We're happy with it.....we have done 20 nights with it using it every time. Only had to put one rope out for one night...rope stores in each of the arms.

One person can set it up......

In heavy rain it does pool water on the back drivers side...

I'm about to permanently install KORR light after trailing it the other weekend.

I was disappointed with the customer service of my local agent......

Defiantly way better than the SUPAPEG

Not trying to be smart, but what is the advantage of matting in sand and dirt ??
If it's clean sand I'll wear thongs in summer and shoes in winter, and if it's dirty sand or dirt I'll wear shoes. When I go to bed, I take them off !!
Are these matting things that good you can sit around and walk around in bare feet with no sand or dirt getting on your feet ?

I believe CGEAR means all the sand falls through and stays clear of sand all the time.

a lot of the time, yes...  also not too bad in wetter/muddier conditions (within reason).

we tend to stay in big4 parks a lot, and our boys love the pool, so when they get back to camp, they are not creating a mud pile in the area near the door or the kitchen.

also, means that young kid's toys and ipads etc are not as easily lost or damaged...

for the price, i don't see what the issue is... if you don't want to use it, don't.

we do and it works well.

our matting allowed our boys to play on the nearby beach and when they cam e back to camp, the sand fell through the mat, with hardly any getting inside.

also easy to give it a quick sweep for a cleanup...

Yes they are that good...for us it creates a 14sq + metre oasis of clean ground to setup a table, seating, preparing meals etc...with the option of going bare foot or wearing shoes if one chooses...definitely minimises sand, dirt, mud, etc. inside camper.

Cheers
