Diamond Valley area.
Diamond Valley Hire in Diamond Creek seem pretty good for repairs.
The one D4D posted only opened up in Hurstbridge a few weeks ago. Where they are used to be a mower shop some 20 years ago. They're a Shindaiwa / Echo dealer and have put alot of effort into the new premises.

I've had good dealings with the Stihl dealer in Ringwood, but they're a bit far

Thanks guys. I need to update my location. Moved up to violet town a couple of months ago. I'll probably take speewa's advice and get a husky. Sthil just don't cut it anymore. The stihl dealer in shepparton don't get good reviews unfortunately .

What's the symptoms aside from doesn't run? There's not much to a chainsaw

Symptoms are it will fire with the choke but not start. If i give it some drugs and full throttle it will start and run but wont idle. I've changed the fuel filter, cleaned the carb with carby cleaner and put in a new spark plug. Gotta be a fuel problem but just can't find it.

Check the hose to the carby is ok, and if it has an in tank filter that it's intact...
Sometimes carby cleaner doesn't get all the Shit either...
If it's not too old, it's worth spending money on, if not, it may still be depending on the model

Fit a carby kit. Ive had a Stihl for over 20 years & when it wouldn't run properly just fited a Carby rebuild kit & was good for a few more years. In 20 years it had 4 carby kits fitted. They used to be $12, but they are $4 on Ebay from China these days. Before any one bags the Chinese I now use $99 Chinese chainsaws from Stratco after the Stihl completely carked it. They are fited with Oregon chain & bar made in Canada. After 2 winters the chains just about worn out & I move on to the next one, cheap fire wood.

Nothing wrong with the Chinese saws...
