Just checking out Supercars web site and there is a piece on the SuperUtes. Have a look on their site, but interesting is the hp and torque of these engines....253kw and 678nm. Going to be interesting as they will be using their own engines Ford the 3.2 Triton their 2.4. So it will power to weight ratio, looking forward to seeing something different in motor racing.

I don't care if they have 1000Nm of torque.......just isn't motor racing when you have to go round in a 4wd based ute.
The yanks still have V8's, we should do the same..

The yanks also have the NASCAR truck series which is huge over there too.

With V8's !!

Doubt they will have much in common with the Utes we know apart from the external appearance and badges
Article says 2WD and full race suspension so I guess that rules out leaf springs at the back.
Will probably be entertaining for the Motorsport mob.

I cant wait to for the series to start, I think it could be great racing.
They aren't going to be over powered, they are big enough to bash each other around and they are using shells on the utes that we all recognise, it should be very competitive.
Not to mention the development of the engines that we use. I know they will be a stripped down version of the engines we use (eg, no dpf or egr) and they are going to use a different management system but there will be benefits filter down to an enthusiastic end user.
