Hi fellow swaggers,
Have any of you fitted ARB recovery points by yourself or have you only had ARB fit them. Just wondering how difficult it may be.
They would be going on a 2016 Fortuner with no bulbar (as yet)
Any information would be great fully received.
Cheers

I gather you would be replacing the factory tie down points with recovery ones.
The biggest problem is most with out knowing any better reuse the existing bolts which are not fit for purpose. Must replace with high tensile bolts.
There is a great write up regarding this issue on offroad80s.com

I fitted ARB RPs on my vehicle (not a Toyota). The existing tow points were not removed. The RPs came with all new bolts. It was an easy job but required one chassis hole (on each side) to be drilled out to 19mm. A 19mm steel bit is about $45. Haven't used them in anger yet.

I fitted roadsafe recovery points to my 2013 hilux. No holes needed to be drilled and was pretty straightforward. The existing tie downs remained in place. Only issue I had was as they are usually fitted with a bullbars, I needed a few extra washers as spacers
