As the barge pulls out the ramps are still down or slightly up hill, the deck on the Manta Ray slopes down at the ramps, There are signs  and the decky usualy tells you to turn the vehicle off / be in gear and apply the hand brake ..

I was thinking the same but any time I've seen them park with wheels on the ramp it's at the front and they get you to drive up onto it, and in the vid old mate is parked at the back with heaps of space.  Park brake or not I don't know why the ramp wasn't up tha far from shore, at the back???

Like when they go to car shows / events to "interact with the public"...

I don't think they're trying to force anything on anyone. They have just decided that material they have seen, at the establishment named, was insulting to them, and have decided to cease co-operation. No biggie.
I'm sure we'd do the same in a similar, but reversed situation.

Yeah, but there is a vast difference in cultures at play too. Anyway, it appears Wuryanto was going off half cocked, and there wasn't any decision by their government to cease co-operation.

I'd still rather we had nothing to do with them anyway.

Edit: Sorry, Gatot, not Wuryanto.

Its double edged. When we first went into Timor after the mighty UN $&@?ed it up.  The powers to be wouldn't let them land armed up !  So the SF boys had to disembark the plane unarmed and man up to all these hyped up TNI soldiers. Fortunately through previous cooperation our boys knew quite a few and the officers and the whole situation went off okay rather than a one sided gun fight.

What's that saying keep your friends close and your enemies closer?

Ooops, just realised that didn't come out quite properly :-[

I mean he's probably quit driving, rather than been sacked.

Two of the little Shits from malmsbury were seen zipping through my town doing about a dollar twenty this a.m. I hear they have nabbed one but trying to find out if they have the other whom apparently legged it into the bush. I'm parking cars in the back yard tonight and locking the house (which I haven't done in years) til I find out for sure. News on the fun polices 2facebook is saying the coppers cant say to much because of something to do with youth identity protection or some crap like that. But seriously?...if them little plicks want to do 120km/h throught a little country town where kids on holidays are playing on and around the street? Shoot the f#@kers.

Looks like we still got a mouthful of her misogynistic accusations despite her being awarded.

http://honey.nine.com.au/2017/01/26/10/56/men-outnumber-women-2-to-1-in-australia-day-honours (http://honey.nine.com.au/2017/01/26/10/56/men-outnumber-women-2-to-1-in-australia-day-honours)

Former Prime Minister Julia Gillard was one of 10 people to receive the top honour of Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) today. However, she told ABC news she wanted to see a change in the gender imbalance among recipients.

"If you believe, as I do, that merit is equally distributed between the sexes and you look at anything and you’re not seeing basically half men and half women, then that’s got to tell you that there are women of merit who are missing out," she said.

"When I look at our great nation, I think women are contributing to its building equally to men, so when we’re recognising those who have, sort of, put their shoulders to the wheel for Australia, you would expect to see around about half-half, rather than the statistics we’re seeing now."

The awards should go to those that deserve them, not to someone because of their gender.

Nice to know our illustrious PM has a lazy $1.75 mil laying around to donate to his party and effectively buy his job. Must have checked his ashtray and dug behind the couch cushions to scrape that up. Just curious though...would that donation be tax deductable?
good on him as far as i am concerned...those whinging about his actions are just jelous that he is wealthy IMHO. The Labor party gets it's cash from the unions, so when the Liberal party was lacking funds he stepped up and put his own coin in place to support what he believes in....no big deal in my book, even if there was self interest involved in his motivation for doing it.
