hi folks,
I am checking on the experiences of the forum.
I am considering camping at Rocky Plains campground, near sawyers hut, off the snowy mountains highway. It is kinda close to Selwyn, where I will be skiing with kids and also starting XC and telemark in coming season.
I will have a jayco swan outback and soft roader, Kia Sorrento. Will prob have 3 kids with me.

Like all places up there, the track could be closed during winter ??
Another nice place ( if open ) is Long Plain Hut..

ditto. If there is enough snow around to make skiing fun there is a high risk of it being closed. Have you checked it out? It tends to be very popular with the horsey crowd due to the yard there. Long plain is usually closed all winter, as is three mile dam (my fave).
Have you considered the van park in Adaminaby? That way you could have power for heating.

Yep - will check with rangers in next few days.

As said above, you won't get in during winter as it is closed.

Thanks guys. I think Adaminaby is firming up.
