Post by: Beefa Toyota on January 09, 2017, 08:25:19 PM
Hi Fellow Swaggers

What is your opinion on these fridges considering the price, $399 as a second fridge, as I already have a 40 lt Engel

Cheers

Bought a similar fridge about 3 years ago
Thermostat won't cut out only freezers
Can't get parts for the fridge
Now useless for camping
Stick with a known brand
Just my 2 cents worth

This might be another option, made by/for evakool, they have it on special and if you use the code CSITE20 on eBay you can get it for $467 pick up.

Go buy yourself a $0.10c thermistor and replace the one that's failed.

Just been through the exercise.  Ring Eva Kool in caloundra and ask for an indelb thermistor. It was $30. It's real easy to replace

Or here

You may need to change the plug end depending on what the fridge has

These fridges are ok. They are made by indelB and sold by several places. Jaycar sell then so should have spares. Also ironman and someone else I cannot remember. Mine is from Aldi and was dearer than that from memory for the 40 litre version.

I did try jaycar for spares and it was too hard for them. But Eva Kool does have spares as they sold them for a while under the name Kool mate ib50.
Technically every retailer must have access to spares by law.

The thermistor Tommie posted isn't correct and will not work as it has different values. It must be an indelb thermistor.

Yeah I'd buy another one again if the dimensions suited my needs.

Hi all,

Another brand to may be consider is giant fridges. Look,up Aussie batteries. They have heaps of different size fridges at reasonable prices.
Bought a few things from them such as solar panels, batteries.... Service is good and answer the phones if any issues.
Hope this helps
