I've seen the same result from a piece of framing timber ratchet strapped to the wheel. It works, but it is messy to install and remove.

Well....I never thought of the dirty side of using them in the mud......Sand may not be as messy...but i feel they would less effective in sand....... :cheers:

Now I'm wondering if fit these before entering a dry sandy cutting while towing the CT (as well as low pressures) will I save myself a lot of problems. I still haven't dragged our Camel CT down main beach at Straddie, every time I think about it I shake my head at my 1hz..and think it's a great day for the country.....
