Hello all,
This rocking horse has been donated to the Oncology unit at ST Andrews hospital, North Street Toowoomba.
It is named after my beautiful wife Ally who passed away last month from stinking cancer.
The horse is being raffled to raise money for a blood testing machine, which would have helped make some of Ally's treatment less stressful.
The tickets are $5 each & they are available at the oncology unit. The horse is also on display there. They have not set a drawn date as yet.
If you live out of the area delivery is not included in the prize.
The size of the horse is a large one.
Regards,
Ray
Hello Mods I hope this is allowed & is in the right place.

Thanks mate I will try pdf

Thanks mate.
I will be happy if they raise a decent amount from her.
Daughter who works in the Nagambie area has got a book of tickets to sell in that area. Maybe if someone in that area wins it I will have to go for a drive to Vic to deliver it
Planning on going on the road anyway.

bogans are also killed by cancer. I find that comment very rude. This horse should be used and loved. Good luck to everyone who buys a ticket.
My sister also passed at st Andrews. Two inoperable brain tumors. I hate cancer.
Mum spent almost 20 years nursing there on night shift. Next time I visit, I will call in. My greatest sympathies for your loss.

Ray,
I have no chance of getting a ticket, and to be brutally honest, no desire to win the horse....
However......
I am more than willing to donate to the centre and encourage others too as well.
May I ask you to find out how and where we can donate?
Alternatively, perhaps if your daughter can mail tickets, I'll happily buy some.
Cheers and best wishes for the future,
Brian.

Ray, my condolences on the lose of your wife, Ally. The rocking horse is a beautiful tribute.
I will buy some tickets the next time I am over in Toowoomba.

Hi Ray, my deepest condolences on the loss of your wife, Ally, and yes it is a sh*tty disease. Good to see you doing something so positive at such a time, when most of us would be too occupied with our own grief, to think about others. I lost both my parents, and my best mate to cancer, but can only imagine what you and your family are going through at this time. With the love of family and friends, you will get through this awful time.

Hello All,
Thank you for your thoughts.
At the moment I am fortunate breathing happens naturally. The brain can't be trusted & I should have thought a bit harder before posting this, my apologies.
I am blown away by the generosity of people on this forum but sadly I would find it to difficult to organise to sell you tickets. The hospital does have a donation account, however any funds put in there could go anywhere. These funds are being collected directly by the oncology unit so they can buy the machine themselves. Once again thanks guys & sorry & I will try to refrain from posting for a while to avoid embarrassing myself.
PS Bird not much skill required, that is my first attempt at wood carving. I had made horses but all done with power tools. I found that if I just got rid of the bits that didn't look like a horse it was pretty straight forward.
Regards,
Ray

Ray.
1 Don't apologise.
2 The wood carving is awesome.
3 I am appealing to any myswagger in the area who is able to organise to take a donation from swaggers directly to the oncology unit.
No dot painters need apply (the ghost of TJ returns ;D)!!!
