Not sure how if others have seen this before. Poor troopie. A good reason why you need your own recovery gear.

Hard way to learn....good on for getting on with the trio and still catching waves..

What tyre pressures did they drop down to?? Is it mentioned?
Should've been straight to 5psi.

my thoughts where the same when I saw that video the other day. Would be interesting to know what he was running to start with, and if he tried deflating them more at all. A set of Maxtrax would have been handy in that situation, though if your tyres are low enough to start with you shouldn't need them to start with.

"A set of Maxtrax would have been handy in that situation". Nah , spent all their money on surfboards LOL. Tyre pressures probably didn't even cross their minds and everything was fine until they hit the soft patch. Liked their attitude with just getting on with enjoying life and their diving video is great.

Sad to see someone lose their vehicle.
These young ones were out there enjoying life.
Glad they're getting on with living rather than being the drones many of us have become.
Cheers Tombie...

yes good on them for getting out there, but with some basic knowledge they could still safely be navigating their way around the country in that same vehicle.
-
Yes a little bit of knowledge goes a long way.....although I think the troopie was near end of life......difficult to re-start when stalled.....and the bulbar seemed to come off really easy.

If you are going to drive on beaches ,learn how to read the beach ,where he got bogged was sure to be soft ,if the beach has a fare slope to it ,then 90% of the time it will be soft , so stay high stay dry
-
Pull the valves out of the tyres and reverse deeper into the water. Only shot they had on a beach that steep.

They could have taken the wood off the top, the bonnet off, the roof racks, the drawers, the surfboards. All could have been used as improvised traction aides to stick under the wheels. Lose a couple of things getting out or lose the car.
