My scales have a glass top on them, so I may need to borrow some scales...
-
Bathroom scales and a chassis stand?
Oh, glass ones?

Layer a few pieces of thick timber on them to spread the load.
Your trailer doesn't look like it would be all that heavy. Can you lift it yourself?
If the scales can hold you, they'd probably hold a light trailer.
Let the weight down gently with the jockey wheel.
Disclaimer: No claims for broken scales will be considered....and don't let Mrs Jeepers see you do it..... ;D ;D
-
Put a pair of thongs under your car stand. 8) See above post for disclaimer!
-
I'll give it a whirl tomorrow.....
You two can go halves in the new scales if I bust 'em. :D
-
Bathroom scales, 2x4 about a foot long.

X 2. Works for me.

Just lie about the ball weight like the manufactures do.
Cheers, Mike.

Good chance another swagger will be buying it...... so no ..... but the thought did cross my mind. >:D
We have a place here called "WHATEVER" and i'm hoping they can do aball weight check for me, as they do lots of caravan stuff.
If I bust the scales, the ol girl will go off.
I was never really forgiven when I blew up the Dyson vacuum cleaner with a fireball coming out of it. (That's a whole other story)

I have one of those ball weight measures, if you want to come over and pick it up hahaha.

Can you comfortably lift the trailer by the coupling yourself? If so then hold it up while standing on the scales yourself. Take note of weight. Then weigh yourself and deduct from total. Job Done.

If trailer is too heavy then discard the above suggestion.????????

Will that work?

It will if your scales has a capacity of more than you + the trailer ball weight. Or Maybe you could get another set of scales and put a foot on each... and then go through the same process. But whatever you do, make sure you include beer and thongs. ;)
-
I have as set of scales you can borrow, the only problem I can is you will have to come and get them. ;D

Jeepers, Repco and or supercheap have a weight scale device for trailers Branded 'Towsafe'.
Manufactured for/by Misterhitches.
www.misterhitches.com.au (http://www.misterhitches.com.au)
or
http://intertradeholdings.com.au/towsafe-ball-weight-scales.html (http://intertradeholdings.com.au/towsafe-ball-weight-scales.html)
or you can borrow mine. I'm not that far away really, just out of Melb. a little bit. >:D

OK, based on the advice I got, I took the said bathroom scales and placed on level ground.
A flat block of timber and a car stand, lower jockey wheel and swing up, to prove I didn't cheat.

One will note, I took the weight as far forward as I could by turning the tregg on its side.

This is the weight reading including the timber and the car stand @ 70.9kg.
There was still a bit of gear in the front box as well as stuff in the camper itself. By cheating, I reckon I could've got this down to around 65kg and by the same token, poor loading could see you go past your 75kg limit, but you'll work all that out when you get the camper home.

Yeah yeah, the scales could do with a clean.
-
Well Moggy, ya gunna buy it now or what? ;D
-
>:DAre you gunna tell him how many batteries were stacked across the back of the trailer to get that result? >:D :cup:
-
Geeez, it's a lightweight ;D

Dunno but if I can lift mine i figure i forgot something hahaha
I took it down the coast once for a few days without he front fridge, geni or a crap load of stuff in the front box. With the kitchen open I had to put my hi-lift under the back corner to stop it tipping as soon as lent on the bench >:(

Hey Moggy,
OK, I went out and bought a ball weight thingy.
It only goes down to 100 then drops all the way to 0.
The first pic shows what I mean.
(http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h200/figjam007/Camper/GEDC0006_zpsfl8rlubb.jpg) (http://s64.photobucket.com/user/figjam007/media/Camper/GEDC0006_zpsfl8rlubb.jpg.html)
I then set it under as close as I could to the end of the Tregg hitch o get my reading and drew a pencil line on it.
(http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h200/figjam007/Camper/GEDC0005_zps1jvqffjv.jpg) (http://s64.photobucket.com/user/figjam007/media/Camper/GEDC0005_zps1jvqffjv.jpg.html)
This is the finished result and by using a ruler, I reckon its come in at about 65kg.

So, what ya reckon Fart-blossom?
We'll be away the week-end of the 10/11th and also have a bit on, but i'm sure we can get something worked out ok.
The Caddy is a few weeks away yet, so the camper can remain in the garage.
I hope you do buy it, I would like to see a swagger end up with it.
Cheers, Kev

Great bit of kit there Jeepers. You could put it to good use by offering to measure your customers ball weight for a fee when you are doing your rounds. Nothing like a bit of xtra cash on the side..Could go into the Caddy's fuel running account. ;D ;D ;D
-
You could have bought a few fish weighing scales and used them. Some cheap spring loaded ones are good for 20kg and only cost a few bucks each.
Then you could throw them on the giveaway post when you were finished.
Cheers

Jeepers I have a set of ball weight scales would you like me to bring them to the Cobb and Co? Disregard I didnt read page 2 ;D
