I just rang their Silverwater Office and have been advised they have just completed their last camper trailer and are closing down. It is a voluntary decision
Cheers

dont know why he didnt just say that last week instead of saying to call back next week.... anyway, cheers
-
Because he is an asshole, now to find where he lives.
-
haha im lucky, i didnt buy a new one... i have a second hand one, everyone said they are decent quality campers but. Sounds like the end was ugly though, didnt tell anyone buying new campers or anything, warranty would be only drama as everything else is pretty universal.

Camel did sell a good water tank. I got one ;D
Someone on here would know who manufactured them for Camel.

Just spoke to Don today.. gone into liquidation today.... another great aussie camper trailer cpy gone under... spewing now lost 4 yrs of warranty, although built very well so shouldn't need it to much.
-
All too common unfortunately. Tuff stuff.
-
They could have let people know they were closing before taking orders. Gonna be a while before my bum stops hurting.

Picked up camper, probably one of their last built, a week before they closed. Was told printer not working so they will email reciept and warranty conditions. When camper was set up in their workshop it was dark and didn't notice anything wrong. When we set it up at home we noticed 2 cuts in the canvas about 5mm long, one in tropical roof one in main window, also hole in floor. Rang them on monday morning was told they would call me back which never happened. They apparently closed that week, wouldn't answer phones or reply to emails. Filed a complaint with fair trading but that will probably come to nothing. You live and learn I suppose. :(

I know it won't make things better with Camel but bite the bullet and go spend $300.00 and fix it privately.

I'd be rotten too, having just bought it.
When they were in business our experience was that they couldn't do enough for us. I think Dons still answering his phone or at least he was last week, he said to me he was still carrying out basic remedial stuff as a courtesy in sydney. He also runs a solar light business in silverwater as well. Maybe see if he could help as a goodwill gesture, he's a pretty reasonable bloke, its hard as liquidation is liquidation i guess its the last thing they wanted as well.
We've had our CT for nearly a year now, there were a few issues we had to sort out straight after delivery but now having had it for a year or so their pretty rugged things with not much having gone wrong with it and we take it out at least every 6 weeks.
Really hope it works out for you.

I'd say a road trip is in order... phoning wont work.. find the solar joint and drive into the place and show him
-
Well well well according to Camel's Facebook page they may be re-opening, hopefully the new owners will honour previous warranty issues, only time will tell. Either way best of luck to them.

Wow that's sad to hear.
We had camel supply the top for our first camper back in 2004 on a trailer that I built. We used it monthly, sometimes bimonthly for years and we sold the camper to our friends in 2010 and it's still like new today.
