Title: would you spend on a lift
Post by: me217 on July 30, 2016, 07:41:06 PM
hey all chasing some opinions. i'm thinking of lifting my suzuki. now the issue im thinking of is is it worth it. as in im wanting to upgrade to a bigger 4wd, but i honestly don't see that as an option in the next 12 months at least. i can get a 2 inch lift for around $650. so it's a bit of coin on a car that's resale value is in the dumps. on the other hand. in its current form it sits abit low to take it on any mildly serious offroad tracks or any beach work

would you guys spend the money on a car that eventually will be sold probably at a loss.

I'm with him ^^^^^

And all cars are sold at a loss, unless you happen to own a genuine xy gt or there abouts.

How much do you spend on a weekend drinking with mates having fun?...better to spend it on a fourby then pissing it up against a wall.... $650 isn't a lot if you plan to go out quite a few times in the next 12 months having fun...and if you're like me, 12 months will become 24 months before you know it

how many times are you likely to 'need' the extra lift in the next year?

Depends if he is married, or how many kids he already has.

enjoy it for what it is and save the money for the bigger rig, youll be glad when your in the one you prefer with less to spend on it in repayments and the like. my bro had a suzi vitara and it went well for what it was he just drove it on the middle of most sandy tracks cause it was lite enoupgh to ride the ridges without to much hassle. he has a 04 prado with lift now.

$650 is a bargain! Just a bit worried about the price, it get what you pay for.

80 Series Old Man Emu 2" springs and shocks and damper was up around the $1600 mark from memory.

That is ordered from the UK. They are a pretty basic lift. Only 4 coils 2 shocks and a few bolts. Also as far as money spent on the weekend drinking. That would be zero lol. Also with 2 kids already that's enough

If you drive a 4wd and don't want to lift it, drive a Prius.

4wd's, lifts and muddies go hand in hand.....;-)

It uses strut spacers. As most the kits do for this car.
