Looking at getting some for the cruiser. Those that have them, do the breath well? Or do they cause you to sweat?
What other good good options are there? Not interested in sheepskin types.
-
we have denim in the back of the 200
I rate them
but if you want canvas get Michelle's sacks ones they are comfy
-
ive got seat cover world canvas and swear by them....lots of deserts and hi country no probs!...5 years old and still new condition and its my daily driver
-
Mine are msa canvas. I like them.
-
MSA for me, expensive, long lasting, bugger to fit, once on don't move, remove when selling and the seats look like new, being a tradesman and in the mud a lot they are great
GG
-
I have MSA in the front of my Cruiser, apparently they are expensive but I won mine in a raffle at the opening of TJM's Hendra store, so no idea what they cost 8)
They don't sweat and are pretty comfy, but I just like canvas as it's my work vehicle also, so my covers need to be hard wearing as I get in the vehicle filthy dirty all the time.

I've had some "Gotya Covered" canvas seat covers for a few years now.
The woman who runs it used to work for Black Duck seat covers and now makes her own.
Excellent fit and quality, and a lot cheaper than black duck.
She does 12oz and rip stop canvas, and also denim type.
-
gotya covered sounds good...will google her
-
I have canvas seat covers from the canvas seat cover company.
Fitted well, weren't as hard as I thought. Feel good no sweating and surprised me with the comfort.
I also liked the escape gear ones that Swannie fitted to his.
-
Yep, MSA deluxe canvas ones on two rows in my 200. Fit will and are comfortable. The console cover is a pain in the butt.
Regards
Angus.

I had Sandgrabba's in the Pajero and need to grab some for the cruiser so I'll ask about seat covers too. Thanks for that..

There used to be a mob in Curban St at Underwood that sold the factory Toyota canvas seat covers, a quickly goggle comes up as them being The Canvas Seat Company. That place has closed by the looks of it, but it now shows same name company at Yatala. They used to make the factory canvas seat covers for Toyota with the emblem stitched into them, but the guys would sell to general public the same seat covers but without the emblem stitched in them for less then half Toyota price from their premises. I had those canvas covers in my previous Cruiser for years

I bought escape gear (south African made) from Hannibal safari in Qld. Very happy with them and the price was considerably cheaper than MSA and a darker colour grey which I preferred.
Starsky

Plain canvas ones.
Cheers Glen
-
Are they custom made for your car/model?
-
Yeah model specific.
Give her a call, she was very helpful with my queries. It was 3 years ago I got my last set from her.
Cheers Glen
-
She was only making the canvas ones when I got mine, but has increased her range it looks like.
Cheers Glen
-
Thanks Glen.
Where in WA are you?
I am NOR in Perth.
-
SOR
Cheers Glen
-
Thanks for the suggestion Glen; we were looking at covers and had some lined up for $300, but I think that we'll go for the Gotya Covered (http://www.gotyacovered.com.au/) ones you've suggested.
-
Ended up getting a set from Gotya Covered Seat Covers in Perth. Ordered on Thursday, arrived in Brizvegas on Monday. Gotta be happy with that :D
Charcoal Denim is the fabric. Fitted them last night and they really look good.

^ What he said.
How does canvass sit? Is it not slippery or harsh?

I got their denim material and at first try it's very comfy. Not slippery at all. Fit is bloody brilliant. :cup:

Black Duck in my work provided hi-lux, they cop a flogging and are great quality, dunno if i could afford them if I had to pay though.
-

With great difficulty, and the little ratbags would kick it, causing it to go flying across the cab.

Angus

Another one with MSA here. I've done about 60,000kms with mine on. They start out firm, but are nice and soft once they wear in. Wearing shorts isn't an issue.
Make sure whichever ones you go with, they are side airbag compatible. The seam splits when the seat airbag goes off.

The lad got genuine neoprene ones with his new Triton-
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GENUINE-MITSUBISHI-MN-TRITON-NEOPRENE-FRONT-SPORT-SEAT-COVERS-09-TO-12-MR936801-/331877780429?hash=item4d45750bcd:g:diMAAOSwMNxXWhVl (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GENUINE-MITSUBISHI-MN-TRITON-NEOPRENE-FRONT-SPORT-SEAT-COVERS-09-TO-12-MR936801-/331877780429?hash=item4d45750bcd:g:diMAAOSwMNxXWhVl)
and he's pretty happy with them but he uses it as a sparky workhorse round town and for surfing weekends. Anyone use them for serious travelling and have thoughts on them?
-
I emailed Gotyacovered and got a reply: they don't do Lexus.
Looking for another.

Anyone use covers on leather seats? If so, why have you done that? I'm noticing some where in my (fake) leather seats and have been wondering whether covers might be a good idea.
-
Have a look at Ruffnuts and Tuffnuts seat covers, made by Allied Seating.
I've got one of each - the Tuffnuts are the 'standard' canvas ones, and the Ruffnuts are made of a special material that is just as wear resistant to canvas, but much more comfortable.
The canvas one is great, and no doubt will outlast my car, but I can't help but feel its a bit rough, tough and agricultural.
The Ruffnuts one on the other hand is soft, comfortable and highly recommended. Allied seating will make them for any vehicle; give them a buzz
