Title: What an oxymoron picture if ever I saw one.
Post by: krisandkev on May 22, 2016, 11:06:51 AM
Went swimming early the other morning at Big Crystal Creek, north Qld and on a large rock beside the picturesque swimming hole was this young attractive girl.  >:D   She was standing doing her Tai chi. Made my wife and I feel very old and unfit as we swam about and occasionally looking up and seeing her exercising.   :'(

Until she lit up a bloody cigarette!  :o  And the more she exercised the more she sucked long and hard on that cigarette. Well I could hardly contain myself from laughing out aloud.  :D

But it did make us feel a lot better about ourselves.  But really, what is she thinking.....   ???

Kevin

PS, will someone turn off that rain at the cape......

Was thinking along the same lines the other day when i saw a pair young birds in their gym gear roll into Maccas and smash down a tray of burgers and fries.

What's wrong with that? The only reason I exercise so I can get away with having beers and eating crap.

Na, I wouldn't bother, I like your interpretation of the meaning.

A similar thing to the original post, a ladies only gym at the local shops is upstairs, just 1 level. When the classes start, just before, I have seen a queue for the lift......  ???

Is that like getting a super size burger and fries with a diet coke!

Same, same - there's a big gym just round from us that's in the same building as the pub & Dan the Man's.

Big carpark with the first 2 rows signed as reserved for pub & Dan customers.

Almost always no spaces left though, because they're all taken up by fitness junkies going to the gym, but parking as close to the front door as they can  ???

In a similar vein, a friend had a dinghy to get to his small yacht and put an outboard on the dinghy so he didn't have to row....

When he was putting on weight, he bought a rowing machine to use in his garage........ ;D

But, I do like the idea of exercising so that you can eat all the wrong stuff and drink beer.....Now, if I can get the weight down  a bit more, I can go back to the cheese, bikkies and red wine.....LOL.

Can't swear by it but a mate of mine told me he saw John Landy (sub 4-minute miler from the 1950s) light up a fag after running in a 1500 metres race in the UK.

Sometime in the 80's was at the Junction Oval for a North Melb Vs Fitzroy VFL game,
A mate nudge'd me and said " i guess Blight {Malcolm} is not playing today.
It was 25 minutes before the ball was bounced and there was Blighty juggling a 4&20 pie, a can of Coke and a
smoke.
He played a blinder, kicked a swag, easily BOG.

These faux health freaks are such dildos while we true health afficionados are into aromatherapy with essential oils (from the Holy Land too)-

I'd believe it, it was common to see athlete's smoking prior to the 60's/ 70's.

Got a solution for you there Jim.

My BiL was up in the NT 2 years ago on their way 'round & picked up a dose of Salmonella, alledgedly from having lunch at a very well-known establishment.  >:D

In hospital on a drip for 2-3 days, then crook as a dog (in a caravan park  :'() for another 2 weeks. Just on 2 years later & he still has to watch some of his diet - but cheese, bikkies, red wine & beer are fine!  ;D

Bonus? Lost about 10kg & that bulge that most of us seem to carry around disappeared completely, so much so that he had to replace all his pants!

Maybe a bit extreme, but if it works ...

Watching the movie "The King's Speech" the other day.

If you haven't seen it, it's set in ~1938, about the new King George VI, who stuttered badly & the efforts to stop his stutter so he could make his coronation speech.

Part of it, he's talking to a Dr, who's on about about the benefits of smoking & getting the smoke deep down into the lungs to open them up, ease the vocal cords & so on!  :-[
