Hi All,
We at looking at upgrading our camper to a new high end model (not yet decided), around the $65K+ and looking at all the options. We have been looking at the insurance for the camper. We attempted to enquire with Youi but they have no options for camper trailers and hence the quote was through the roof.
We are going to get a few quotes through others like RACQ etc but was wondering id anyone with a high end camper have insurance though a company that is reasonably priced.
Thanks

We are with CIL

CIL and Wesfarmers I've heard nothing but fantastic reports from those who have claimed.

Went through the process a couple of months ago. $62k camper set up for remote area travel. I went with GIO, their rates were competitive and all the extras like remote area salvage, contents etc was pretty good. I coupled it up with my 4x4 and strongly suggest you use the one insurer for both vehicles.

Thanks all for the replies.
CIL will be at the Rosehill camping show. Will investigate when we see them there.

Did the same exersise a month ago ended up with CIL.

I ended up with RACQ. CIL don't cover ocean/salt water which could be an issue for people like me who tow on the West beach of Fraser.

CIL for us too.
Cheers

CIL for us too.
Hi GBC Not sure who told you about Salt water / ocean but they must have no idea what they are talking about. There are no exclusions for this other than RACQ excludes their lifetime repair guarantee if 'repairs to your caravan fail because of saltwater'. Not sure how a repair can fail due to saltwater, maybe you splash it too hard?
all policies exclude corrosion, wear and tear etc.
Cheers
I would reread page 12 of your CIL PDS - something about actions of the sea/surges/cyclones etc?..... If I get bogged on a remote beach and the tide comes in I am not covered under CIL - I asked expressly. Not important to everybody - important to me.

I am with NRMA, and they were well priced.
An idea might be try www.comparethemarket.com.au (http://www.comparethemarket.com.au) and they will give you some more options. There are a few different comparison sites other than them too.

Thanks GBC - my apologies. I have deleted the previous comment to prevent any confusion.
