I just received a newsletter from Kimberley Kampers.

Nice.

The yanks have been doing it for years, but as said, I'd be a bit nervous about the fire risk !!

I've seen this done before with a Marquee at Scouts.  You just have to hang heat proof curtains either side of the flue exit.
Works well, even get the stove glowing, just like a cast iron pot belly.
They sit back far enough then.  Boils the kettle at the same time.
Just like ya mum or ya nanna.

Have a look at the tents they use in MASH the TV show.  Straight from the Korean War.
I know they're war surplus, so please don't jump about too much.
Each tent has a stove, with a heat collar around the flue.

Is it just me or does that beach not look cold enough to warrant a wood heater?

If you have the door open, and all the windows rolled up, then yes i'd say warm enough to need warrant the heater :)

I'd like someone who knows a bit about this stuff to comment on the risks around smoke and CO2 with these things.
