On my new camper, the documentation refers to, in between trips, taking the water filters out, drying them, and then placing them into a plastic bag in the fridge.
(I have the platinum 'freshly Squeezed water company' RV setup).
I understand the reasoning (not grow bacteria sitting in the filter while it is sitting in water for a length of time) but interested how many of you actually do this, and what do you consider a reasonable amount of between trips for you to warrant doing this...

It's protected from light, I would'nt have thought alge would grow inside the cartridge "

All my water is filtered through beer. Never had a problem apart from falling over but thats because of too much water.

Bought one of these back when we had the Trackabout - 2008ish... Did the fridge storage thing until we bought a B.E.S.T. [lots smaller] earlier this year...
Basically stored it that way when we returned from a trip. A bit anal, I know but the filters still worked well even with some very dirty water filtered through them.
