I must have killed a chinaman somewhere.
No matter where we go we seem to get bad service.
We had originally prebooked with Bridgestone to have 2 new tyres on the camper 2 weeks before heading to Alice. After arriving in Alice i noticed one wall on the front passenger side of the cruiser had a slight tear. So I decided to get 4 new tyres for the car and put the remaining 3 from the car to the camper.
Went to beaurepairs on Monday and he offered a good deal on 4 new goodyear tyres. Trouble is he only had 2 in stock but he said , no problem, and rang someone and said he would have another 2 tyres in for me Wed morning. I gave him my number and he said he would call. Wed 11.00am comes around and I call them. He could not remeber me and said he did not get the tyres in. WTF.
Off to kmart who.had some bridgestone D697 in stock and booked in for today (Thursday) at 8.00am. Arrived at Kmart and asked if the car could be ready by11.00am. He said no way as his mechanics are slow and he is flat out. Interesting as I asked them could it be done by 11.00am the day before and he said no worries.
So lucky I still had the booking at Bridgestone I had made earlier. So off to bridgestone and they will have it ready by 11.00am.
Also went to Harvey Norman on Monday to buy a $2000 laptop and stood around for 20min with staff looking at us and eventually someone came up and we said we want to talk to the manager who we had a appointment with, booked 2 weeks before coming to Alice, and she advised the manager is in Sydney and back Tuesday pm and she will get him to call us Wed. Gave the girl my number and still no call.
At least the botttle shop gives excellent service.

Welcome to customer service 2000's style.

Got the tyres and wheel alignment done at Bridgestone, great service finally. Regarding the engel fridge, the display is back to normal. I have no idea what it was but all good now.

Yep, can vouch for Bridgestones service in Alice. They were excellent to deal with.

Not just the 2000s, I remember customer service like that from Darwin in the early 1980s. Call to arrange a to pick up a part or buy an appliance, told it's in stock, drive 3 h, then 'no mate haven’t got it probably be in next week' or not!

Don't you love it when they say they will call you back!
And so you call them again and have to explain it all again..... I know, they are busy. I don't care. That is your problem. Kevin
