hey all, i haven't seen a post like this here so i thought I'd make one.
this is for those little projects that should of been done in a couple of days/weeks but seemed to go on for ever. it couple be life got in the way or just pure lack of motivation.
I'll start.
This is my box trailer that i decided to do up and get on the road. i thought it would be done in a couple of weeks. now its been over a year and its nearly completed. since i have started, i have rebuilt the rear light mounts, added mounts for a cage. (maybe another 12 months ;D), replaced the dodgy bent axle. rebuilt the mudguards, replaced the spare wheel mount, replaced the tie down rails and fitted tie downs inside.
also cleaned up and painted it in two-pac. as i previously painted it in enamel and it faded in about 6 months. that's why its blue in one photo. i couldn't find the picture in between.

if i find the in between photos I'll add them to fill in the gaps.

I have a couple of those short/long term projects.
1) My 1958 FC Special sedan that i bought just before i turned 17, been together and apart a few times - had it 30 years.
2) 6x4 box trailer that was just a chassis with plywood attached that was to be my camper trailer, got sidelined when i bought a camper trailer.
3) 74 VW Kombi, its running and complete and driveable and i just wanted to get it on club reg to use and do a running resto but busting my leg last year has put that off for a while.

4 years ago I told the wife I'd renovate our kitchen and bedroom if we could buy a brand new camper trailer, which we then purchased....I did the kitchen a few years ago, but the bedroom still hasn't been touched. I actually have a door sitting under the house the past few years that I bought new for the project, which will go where I remove a window from in our bedroom...can't rush these things though.

Painting the house. I replaced the front door which was about 10 years overdue mainly as we couldn't decide on the style. I then started to paint the house a new colour, starting with the door frame. I finished painting the front door frame. The can of paint tge sat there at the front door for over a year as a reminder. I finally fixed that problem, the can is in the shed now.

I have a 75% finished camper trailer thats been a garden ornament for the past 2 years, it was only supposed to be a 5 month project + a pile of twisted hose and power cables connected to a pump and instant gas water heater thats supposed to be our new camp shower ..Ohhh and a few other short term " things " that are partialy completed ;D........ Oh well one day ! .

Finished owner builder house extension 2 years ago.
Burnt the wick on both ends to get it done,
A few jobs kept lingering, bedroom skirting boards, alfresco area tiling, cupboards and feature wall.
Got back from our last trip and now motivated, so Ive smashed them all out, just down to the feature wall which is 1/2 done.
Cheers Glen

Well I'm 14 years into a 6 month boat renovation. It's going well so far.

In 2011 I had a stone come up and break the end on one of my pole carriers on my Trackabout, I taped the lid back on and have done many trips since then, But yesterday I decided that I should fix the broken end, cost around $ 9.00 and took about 5 mins.

While I had the pole carrier off I decided to fix the broken end.

All fixed and remounted on my Trackabout.

I was installing an outdoor power point at home. I picked a location that was back to back with an internal power point. I drilled the hole through the brick wall into the cavity fixed the base of the GPO to the wall and fitted off the GPO with a 1.0m piece of power cable stuffed into the cavity.
Around 18 months later I had to hurry and complete it as we were having a birthday party for my daughter with a jumping castle that needed power for the blower. Can't rush these things.

I'm 3 years into a 1 week laundry reno.
It was gutted and the floor done. I ripped the tiles off the wall, but got called away by work. So I shoved the sink back into the corner and have a pipe standing 3 foot out of the floor so the washing machine can still be used.
The taps and tiles are stacked in the sink (along with some tools that wrote off as 'lost' when I was searching for them for other jobs) and the drain is disconnected. One day I'll get stuck back in and finish it, probably a month before we move out.

spent a full day sunday on one of my looong term projects
started this one last year.
the goal is to level the back yard, put up a small retaining wall, remove the old lean to pergola and turf the section.
yesterday i filled 12 wheelbarrows of soil and moved to other side of yard.(need this one finished by 29th april)
while waiting on some shade i made a 2400x1200 planter box for another project.
then leveled the 12 barrows of soil in the shade.
i have about 3 yard jobs still awaiting completion started in 2011,
and a cub drifter rebuild i bought over 12 months ago.
