Title: Water tank into Nissan D40
Post by: fisher on January 08, 2016, 10:20:30 AM
I have a Nissan D40 dual cab, with a DIY drawer system.  I currently have a couple of jerrys of water sitting securely on top of the drawers, which I can siphon when required - but its a bit of a rigmerol (?).  I'm thinking of getting a 1120x330x200 poly water tank and sit this across the drawers just behind the cab.  The plan is to run some plumbing from the tank to the tail gate area and have a tap and hose fitting for easy access.  I did a quick search here but couldn't find any similar thread.  Is anyone able to give me some pointers on what I should and shouldn't do?  cheers

Try put as low lpm pump as you can to save on water. I find i waste a bit of water due to the flow.

Hey KB.  The tank I'm looking at is very similar to the Boab 55L shown in that link.

Scarps - did you use pipe or hose from the tank to the tap?

cheer

cheers.  As the tank will be sitting on top of my drawers, I'm thinking gravity feed might be sufficient.  thanks again

clear reinforced caravan water hose for inlet, breather and out to the pump/tap. Available from any good hardware shop

Just remember clear hose has the ability for mould to grow if exposed to any sunlight. Try use the non see through food grade hose. if its not food grade you may get a plasticy taste to the water. Bunnings sell 10mm hose thats white inside and light blue outside that works well.
