Can anybody up on the Murray keep their eyes open for a Malibu Wakesettter stolen from near Torrumbarry at about 1:00am this morning
Taken from in front of my daughters mates camp, tied up on the water less than ten meters from their tents. Don't know what trailer they would have put it on but the boat Rego is AFS265N

If any sightings ring me on 0419550775 or the police please

Yeah, yeah I already know that you barrack for the Scraggers, but what has that got to do with a stolen boat.
They are scum bags, nothing is safe anymore
Sorry I didn't get time to drop in for a beer Greg, but it has been rather busy, will have to catch up soon. I be up there again over the coming weeks working on my boat, gunna get a tracker off footyshortsshane for it before I go

How do you pinch a boat without the trailer?
-
They steel trailers at boatramps too

Dead right, they float the boat down stream, knick off a trailer at the ramp and their off. Most people up the river leave the keys in the boat because they are camped right beside them. Because my daughters mates are serious skiers with all the boards, jackets, ropes etc they are probably getting close to losing100 grand

We went out fishing came in on dusk to our trailer flogged.
Aparantly they also wait for the owner to go get help while the boats left mored and then knock that off too.

When I was in the fireys we had a car fire call one night at the boat ramp...
the scrotes couldn't get the trailer off for some reason even jemmyed open the boot etc, so the ****s torched the car... lowest form of oxygen breather...

Maybe an app like
Salient Eye (http://www.salient-eye.com/)
might be a good investment. Turns your smartphone into a portable security camera.

I think it comes down more to you wouldn't expect it to happen there...
I think the boat is being towed into Mt Isa at the moment though :(
Maybe one of Footy Shorts' setup on a boat too could be good... you could run it off the battery for longer charging too..
-
Yes. A tracker is a no brainer..
-
Sorry to hear about the loss mate, it sucks big time ... Reckon everyone could use a Donk security system at one time or another though ..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nC6E3j8ddS8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nC6E3j8ddS8)

Hahaha I love croc Dundee. Classic

No doubt it was insured, but it doesn't help now, but we used to pull the boat out every night.
Can only think it would be an organised gang doing this sort of stuff...probably cased the boat out all arvo.
The jails are full of this sort of scum........just hope they join the rest of them in there !!
-
Yeah it is fully insured, we have been skiing on the Murray for over 40 years and never even thought once about pulling the boat out. Should have known I guess as we have knocked off a couple of mates boats late at night and hid them downstream. That doesn't seem so funny now. Have given Shanes details to them for when they get it replaced. Suppose it's a good thing I only have an old Gilflite, doesn't draw much attention, but I will throw a tracker in it when I get one for the new camper, until then I hope the dogs will do the job
-
Hmmmm, I must admit, when we leave our boat at anchor and go ashore in the tender, most times, the keys are in the ignition.
I use to take 'em out and put them away is draw.
Never take them with me though, because I can bet i'll go swimming with them and lose 'em.
A person might need to think about a good hidey hole for 'em on board.
-
A manualy operated hidden battery and ignition cut out or a fuel line isolator .. And a hard to open battery locker ..Would be a better option Kev ..

Any word on this??

No Bruce, was talking to the owners on the weekend. They reckon they were targeted because they only had the one boat in their camp most other camps had other boats or jetskis to chase them with if they were disturbed, their uncle woke up but by the time they worked out what had happened and jumped in their cars to get down to the ramp all that was left was the water on the ramp. Lucky it was fully insured
-
Still a bugga >:( >:(
-
Yeah Keith, the thing that pisses me off is the owners are two young couples that have worked their butts off and saved to buy the boat so they can follow their passion, then some parasite comes along and takes it all away. Water skiing is good wholesome family fun
