Just seen on FB a families new 3 week old rear fold caught on fire as they slept inside.
They were very lucky to survive.
You will have to look it up, it wouldn't let me post a link.
-
Good luck talkin the kids and wife into going again!
"It was our first camping trip. The trailer was only three weeks old."

:'( for the family - hope it doesn't scar them for life.
Wonder what caused it.
-
They reckon it was electrical, according the the fireies.
-
What a horrible initiation to camping for the family. So lucky they all escaped without physical injury. Hopefully they are insured!
It could happen to any in this day and age but does anyone know the make of the camper?

"The kids were in swags on the ground and one of the swags had begun to catch fire, but we got him out. "
yea poor kid ... nightmares for life...
-
Drove past it as they were loading the trailer onto the tilt tray on the beach, looked a right mess...a lucky escape for those involved that's for sure
-
wonder if they had a smoke detector? Glad all are safe and well.
-
Everyone's nightmare , so lucky they got out ok.
-
Glad everyone go out ok.
Time to ID the camper, that front box in the stoneguard is pretty distinctive.

It's a GIC Black series Pheonix apparently.
A few have been saying Kimberley, but they have different kitchen configuration and no front stabiliser legs.
Regards
Angus.
-
Terrible for the family. Not sure that one will be rising from the ashes.

Yep I reckon you on the money.
Lucky people. Very lucky
Looks similar to one of these http://www.austrackcampers.com.au/camper-trailers/rear-folding-hard-floor/ (http://www.austrackcampers.com.au/camper-trailers/rear-folding-hard-floor/)
Could be Edz
-
WOW glad to hear they all got out safe scary stuff, hence the reason I have fitted a smoke detector and a LPG detector to my Expanda.
-
Could be either of the 2 mentioned already, they look exactly the same
-
I reckon it's a ezytrail as my mate has a black series and the wheels are different. But it's hard to tell tbh as I reckon they are all made the same except the colors it's painted
-
?@ck that!
Terrible experience for all.
-
Cant really shame the manufacturer when no one knows the facts. It may have had third party wiring work done in its 3 weeks of ownership that may have caused the fire.
Lucky escape by the sounds of it.
-
Agree a little hard blaming a manufacturer without the facts
-
But if it was a Jeep then you guys would all be blaming the car straight away?
I agree, regardless of the cause the most important thing is that everyone got out of it ok:)
-
My tip, wiring too small, insufficient fuses with a high current draw from a fridge or aircon unit plugged into a 12v socket meant to be used for lights or phone charging at best.

I reckon it a Rucky Duck as my mate has one and it has tyres on the rims.

just hope they are already on their way to investigate it.... hahahahhahahhah!!! as if they would

I reckon The Punter is on the money based on that distinctive front storage box.

the drawer, front box, and whole design looks the same as all of the Chinese campers. the only way to tell is to have a look at that compliance plate, or give rainbow beach towing a call.

NASA doesn't have a squeaky fire record either....
Feel bad for the family, could have been a lot worse too.

They look similar because the pricks keep copying the market leaders.

All made in the same downtown Shanghai factory
Some of the misleading advertising that one three letter company do on their Facebook page is poor
"Made in xyz owned factories"
-
It looks awfully close to a VoyagerII to me, i wont say the company name tho
-
It could be any number of Whoflungdung campers, as many are manufactured in the same factory and simply badged for their respective brand, or are direct copies of each other. This is really surprising considering the R&D that goes into these things, and the level of knowledge that those manufacturers have about actually using a camper ::) or 12V

Either way it's good to hear no one got hurt, a horrific thing to happen to anyone regardless of what caused it
