FYI
Been looking at these as they are much smaller than an aquacube. They have been out 6 weeks or so. Looked at a demo model. If you turn the flow off at the shower head the system throws an error and you have to reset it at the unit. Thought the unit must have been faulty. Alas that is how it is. Had it confirmed by coleman aust on their Facebook page. Missed opportunity by CA I reckon.
" Hi Mark. The new HWOD units will display a FLO error whenever the shower handset’s water flow is stopped (i.e. it is turned to ‘off’). The way the system works is that the water flow cannot be restarted from the showerhead itself, the machine must be restarted. This is a safety feature, ensuring the system will not build up pressure, placing extra strain on the units components. Hope that helps. Cheers, Coleman Australia"

Well that's handy, talk about user unfriendly , I don't miss my aqua cube either, had 3 or 4 in a row with faults.

Yeah all of them seem to be hit and miss. Had a good run from the logic. The new coleman has the same issue the woeful primus one had 15 years ago. Would go one of the jacoola units but like the little canisters and self contained design of the aquacube and hwod.

I had an early Aquacube and it died about 2 weeks out of warranty but I only used it 3 -4 times.
HWOD has been going strong for a few years. I bought a canister refill fitting from USA evilbay and have 2 canisters, refill them from any LPG cylinder, heaps cheaper.

Local shop has the old hwod for 199. Seems like a good price. H2oasis has a 3 year warranty which is impressive.

I never have problems with my hot water system. Billie on the fire works every time.

Bet you Billie doesn't enjoy that!

She does as she is told!

I was keen on the new Coleman until I saw that it doesn't activate from shower head like the aqua cube. This is a deal breaker

Out shopping today. None of these units to be seen. Asked of they were popular? Apparently not. Nationwide recall. All removed from shelves on Friday. Bloke reckons coleman were copping way to much bad press about the unit's major flaw and are trying to sort out a fix.....
He reckoned they didn't even know. Pretty disappointing.
