EASTLINK TUNNELS CLOSED
Due to an incident, EastLink is currently closed in both directions between Springvale Rd and Maroondah Hwy.
Please avoid the area.

The incident is believed to have occurred near the entrance to Melba tunnel, which is the tunnel for city-bound traffic.

East Link has been closed in both directions between Springvale Road, Donvale, and Canterbury Road, Ringwood.

VicRoads have also closed all outbound lanes on the Eastern Freeway at Surrey Road, Blackburn North, but it unclear if this was related to the incident.

And we were dead set lucky. We decided to come home to Moe from Kilsyth via Narre Warren because I said "no" to toll roads in the GPS. Normally I would have just come along Canterbury Rd, East Link and the M1 and paid the tolls or I would have told the GPS OK to toll roads. Either of the toll road options would have put us in the middle of it. Wouldn't have been even a little bit pleasant while towing a 2 tonne trailer.

Did well to contain the gas bottles, Would have thought they would have been spread over a wider area and well out in front of the  truck ..
How do you barrel roll a truck on that bit of road though ?  seems like its a decent bit of road.

Probably trying to avoid running up the back of one of Pete79's favourite Victorian caravans
