Hi All
We are starting to plan our next few trips and Im looking forward to going back into Wonnagatta Valley taking some friends in with us.
Can you get an Off Road CT and Off road Jayco Swan into the valley to camp then explore by 4x4 from there?
I have a 100 series with 2in lift on BFG AT"s and MDC xtreme off road trailer and my mate has a 120 series with same lift and tires towing the swan.

The number of times I've been there, I've never seen a trailer of any kind in there.
I think it would depend on which way you went in. Neither would be easy with a trailer. The Swan may be too big for the tracks. They are very windy in places and narrow, especially Zeeka Spur track. Coming out to the south, the tracks are OK but many have some very steep rocky climbs out.
Depending on the time of year and the amount of rain, the rivers can be over bonnet depth. Not sure what vents the Swan has in the door given it would need open vents for the gas systems.
I reckon I'd leave the trailers at home.

yes it can be done.. if you get rain, good luck... there have been groups stuck in there for a week before..

With planing it is fine to take trailers in. I have towed our Kimberley in with 120 prado twice from myrtleford side through abbeyard, then on the west buffalo track. But in saying that if it rains while your in there, you'll be there till the track dries.

I towed a off rd cub into Wonnagatta from the north with a very capable 80 series cruiser , no prob

Went in and out via Zeka Spur about 10 years ago with a mate. Me in the Paj and tent. Him in an R50 Pathfinder with Trak Shak. Thought it would be fine if it didn't rain......which it did the night before we headed out :'(
Diff lock and M/Ts obviously were helpfull, but ultimately only had one difficult point where he had to have a second go. Having a winch helped with confidence levels!
I haven't been in since so don't know what the road is like at the moment.

Funny you should say that,I'm was only saying to Matt on Monday night I wanted to take the kk in to Wonnangatta this summer. I think going the way you did is the only way out, but would mind finding a different way in.......

I took our KKamper in Easter last year coming in on the Twins Track from Hotham and went out to the North via Abbeyyard. We were fully loaded carrying relatives who were tent camping in our Patrol along with all their gear so it was slowish going with the 18month old in the back too.
We basically had no issues. A few tight spots due to fallen trees that were negotiated without damage. It rained quite a bit the day before we were heading out and I only had the factory nissan patrol tyres which are more HT than AT. These two things made the trip out very interesting to say the least. We would have winched 3-4 hundred metres cumulatively across a few climbs that I just couldn't drive up. The Warn 9.5XP paid for itself that day pulling the Patrol & KKamper up and up.
Can't wait to get back there and will be pulling a KKaravan next time but will be on much better tyres.

Easiest way into the valley is from myrtleford via abbyard on the east riley track. We have towed our cub in and out that way a couple of times without any issue's
