Can you run a camp fridge 24x7x 365 days?
I'm planning to buy a camp fridge because sometimes we ran out of freezer space in our home fridge.
so plan to buy a 40l Engel camp fridge and run it 24x7 and hopefully not 365days.
Then use the fridge on our camping trips
Any advice

Yep..... ;D

I run my waeco full time in the backof my car (2nd battery and solar panel).
I read an article a while back that suggested it is actually better for them than stop, start, stop, start.
Cheers!
Jono.

My Engel has been my beer fridge running all the time for the last 11 years and still going strong.

Not sure about the latest engel, just check that it cycles off when on colder setting ie as freezer, if not back it off a couple of degrees so that it cycles.

Yes
-
Yep run it all year long

Another yes from me...mines running all the time in my fourby, use it for my lunch and drinks at work daily.

l run 1 Engal as a beer fridge , it dose get a pizziling at that job . Remember to oil the hinges :cup:

just do it, you wont regret it - make sure yr battery is up to it though, remember that yr normal cranking battery isn't - if you don't have the room for a second battery then invest in a good hybrid (we have a 100Ah) and if you can a decent solar panel AND mppt controller that all switches off or disconnects when the ignition is on so you don't have two 'smart' systems causing each other to switch off

Thanks guys for the reply... now I feel at peace running it.
Thanks
EDIT :
just found this fridge from Supercheap Auto... I think made by EvaKool... is this ok?

the price certainly is, especially for the size...

I run my 39 litre Engel almost continuously. It's over twenty one years old and still going strong. It cost me about $1100 in 1994. That's $52 per year. How do the cheaper brands compare with that?
-
it would be interesting to find out - I had a rank arena 'cheap' rfeezer, bought it in '83, gave it away still working in 2005
-
I've run a national Luna 90ltr Twin Tub; and a Weaco 80ltr FridgeORFreezer
24/7/365...
No problems at all...
The wacko loves it - purrs all day at a steady 4-5degrees

Now that is a good return.
They're probably still the same price, go figure
