Title: Folding rake
Post by: plusnq on October 02, 2015, 10:09:36 AM
Has anyone got any recommendations for a folding rake for the camper trailer?

Thanks

Shane

We've got a fiskars one with a removable head, got it from the green shed. The removable head makes it easy to store

I use this as they are cheap & compact. Actually they are quite good though and would expect them to be dearer.

I imagine a folding rake would be like a folding shovel to use.  Easy to store and difficult/PITA to use...

Stuff like Cyclone brand, the timber handle is a press fit into a socket with a retaining screw.  10 seconds to remove with a screw driver, handle in the pole carrier and head in the toolbox.  Take a spring steel leaf rake head and a nail type garden rake head for best of both worlds.

I have one too and it works perfectly - unlike the folding shovel...

Same. Folding shovels suck and got rid of mine ages ago in preference for a 'real' one. The rake, I even use it at home not that I have massive amounts to rake.

Works well and have found it plenty strong enough for moving sizable sticks and stones.

Forestry Tools is an online mob that I buy bamboo-working tools from. They usually post within 24 hours. http://www.forestrytools.com.au (http://www.forestrytools.com.au)

They have a folding rake with a telescopic handle

* Barnel B999
* stores at 900mm, extends to 1800mm, handle locks at any length
* weight 756g
* spring steel tines
* $35.00

They have some kewl looking tools... The Granberg Alaskan Small Log Mill looks like you could make some awesome wood stuff with it...

I was actually searching for shovels 'kits' like 4wd stores sell but without 4wd tax... but that rake does look good the bloke mentioned, but out of stock.

Normally just used for camping purposes, but used it last weekend for crabbing at Pt. Vincent and managed to snag a dozen nice size crabs with it.
