Burke and Wills for me too. It's probably 10 years old and still going strong.
There are lots of cheaper ones available now that look pretty good so I'd probably do some shopping around if buying again.

Looking at a double

Anyone got one of these from 23 Zero?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/23-ZERO-Swag-Double-1550mm-wide-RRP-379-95-/131799187433?hash=item1eafd7ffe9:g:rqgAAOSwnGJWTR9K (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/23-ZERO-Swag-Double-1550mm-wide-RRP-379-95-/131799187433?hash=item1eafd7ffe9:g:rqgAAOSwnGJWTR9K)

Can someone post a pic of their double swag packed up and them standing next to it? I'm keen to see how big the bag is!

I picked one up yesterday for Clarky.. GC brand - exact same, but this one came with the poles and stuff.. just a nearly empty warehouse in Bayswater with a 500 yr old Asian woman in there to hand over stock.

F U G G I N G HUGE!!!!!!!

I mean it goes from the back door of the commodore to the back of the front seat. pretty tall too - bout knackers height.. you could have a 5 some in there and not hit canvas...

it will be at Knockwood, so come along

We've purchased two of these in the last six months. Young jack(14) has one & I have one now.
Weisshorn Double Swag Camping Swags Canvas Tent Deluxe Aluminum Poles & Bag off eBay.
http://tinyurl.com/h5mwslx (http://tinyurl.com/h5mwslx)
we set them up under  the 3x3 gazebo, which came in handy cause it rained a couple of times.
We used a single air bed under the mattress that comes with them, it's not thick enough for my liking, I'll buy a good quaility self inflating mattress soon.

Hi Bird...you are starting to worry me that they have given you a double rather than a king single. How long is the thing?
Cheers, Clarky

I'll measure it tonight when I get home and take photos.. It was setup when I got there and we had to pack it up.
You maybe right, if its a king single, **** I'd love to be the king to need that much room for my tent polel

I had a sarmajor for about 15 years...was just a simple swag but great quality......until I lent it to a friend and it got burnt to a cinder in a car fire.

I've got a Oztrail Mitchell in a king single and a dble swag.

They are such a bad design with the 3 loops, the middle loop has to be put in with the swag unzipped and your bedding exposed to the elements while you fumble trying to get the stupid loop in place. Then both ends have to be pegged and roped. Wish I had got the spreader bar style.

The only thing I really like is the canvas base as it doesn't pool condensation like the PVC style base.

Looks like it comes with a Swag Warmer.
There's a bonus  :cup:

I have a oztrail lachlan (3 loops) I put a eyelet in both ends of the top of the swag just under where the loops go through, bought a ridge pole from oztrail and got rid of my centre loop.
This might be a solution for you?

I've just got one of the Kings double swags. Bloody massive thing!
The quality certainly isn't anywhere near as good as my Burke and Wills but for $200 who cares. If it looks like it's going to be wet I'll put it under my awning.
The main drawback will be it'll have to go on the roof, but that's no biggy

True, but a hell of a lot warmer than a tent.
I was surprised how warm the swag is inside with the canvas, where as the hubs that attach to our 3x3 gazebo are great in summer.

If you're looking for a swag which will become an heirloom, you can't go past a Murchison river swag.

I've got a single hoop double swag. Made by a friend's brother 18 years ago. 16 ounce canvas and a heavy pvc base. Brilliant for winter camping,  so warm.

Although these days when i go camping without the family I generally pack the Coleman 30 second tent along with the swag if there's a threat of rain.

Got 2 swags in the shed at moment... still take the Blackwolf...

had the swag out in snow and it was toasty warm inside - the flap was frozen when we got up in the morning LOL!

Another vote for Southern Cross. Had ours for about 18 months now and can't fault the quality. I fully expect to hand this one down. That said I have a couple of singles, one about 20 years old, can't tell you the Brand, the company may not even be in business now. I do know that I never spent the sort of money the SC cost and it is still doing the job just fine so I don't think you have to spend the earth to get something that will last.....as long as you look after it.
