Title: Old school camper
Post by: zen4x4 on August 30, 2015, 10:21:01 PM
Hi Guys,

Names Zen, been camping since I was about 18 so about 10years. About 1.5 years ago my wife came along for a trip and loved it and we go away as much as we can.

Up until now we have been using a black wolf turbo tent it's great.

However yesterday I picked up an old maybe 70s camper off a mate for very very very cheap. It's been sitting at his farm a long time.

It's Aussie made and called a suncamper. I've started cleaning it up as it needs some work but should be able to take it out for a test run soon.

If anyone has seen one of these before let me know. Or if you have any ideas of things to do to it.

Looks good for its age too Zen .. lots of those style campers still in production over in America,  Europe, England  I beleive .. Youtube "  Dandy Campers "  for America google Tent trailers ..
If was mine I would be fitting drop down adjustable supports under the bed bases, to add a bit of extra stability ..as in the pic below .

Thanks edz,

It has 2 support for each bed which attached to the trailer it's self.

Do you think it's worth adding 2 more? Also where would be the best place to buy them?

I guess first up would be to see how stable it is the way it is , if it rocks about too much you could just alter the bed frame supports to go to the ground like in the top photo ..
