Title: Stoney Creek Campers
Post by: Drop Bear on March 22, 2015, 08:41:50 PM
Does anyone have a Stoney Creek camper trailer or know much about them? Pro's & cons etc.
I haven't been able to turn too much up through internet searches, so I'm keen for any feedback you might have.
Thanks in advance. Cheers, DB.

My wife & I took a visit to their showroom out Ipswich way last year & had a look at the F/Fold. It appeared to be made well but had a rather large tray setup on the rear which, in my opinion, would not last too long on corrugations & would also limit the departure angle considerably. I did like that the under body wiring was all in a protective tubing, not dangling for rocks, sticks etc to hit. It did have the I.S. with twin no name shocks & a poly block tow hitch (which may or may not meet ADR)
We also had a look at the Austrack FF at Caboolture & I feel that, if we were to purchase this sort of camper, it would get the nod. I can't put my finger on anything specific but my gut feeling was that there was something a little "Nicer" about it. Same poly block, by the look of it.
As it turns out, after looking at several brands & a lot of deep discussion, for the moment we're keeping our Goldstream Wing1 as the storage space/seating/comfort in the FFs just can't compare. Understandable by their general configuration & no criticism intended.
Good Luck with it.
Steve

Interesting that you mention this, I attended the Rosehill Caravan & Camping Show yesterday and they had a large exhibit. The only comment that I could make was that there were three or four CT companies in the same area, GIC Black Series, Skamper and one other whose name escapes me. Point is they all had the same range of campers, obviously from the same manufacturer in China. I'm not knocking them, they all looked nice and shiny and on the surface well finished. If you're interested in one of their models you will probably find the same camper under a different brand name in a dozen other places.
