I apologise if this thread is against the rules. Mods, feel free to delete if I have done the wrong thing.
I have a 1978 Millard van that we bought a few years back for 5k that we got diddled on. Our own fault, did not know enough about vans at the time. Anyway, someone wants to buy it to put at the back of their house for their 20 something son to live in. The problem is, I don't really want to sell it so I am probably wanting more than it is worth. Can anyone give me any hints on value?
14 foot
1978
Refurbished inside to have a full queen size bed. Foam mattress slept on less than 20 times
Air conditioner that works fantastically
Brand new awning, never used
Heaps of cupboard space.
Bad points
The chassis is rusted. The van is towable but IMHO only to relocate short distance. We move it around at home easy enough but I would not sell it to someone that wanted to travel.
There is slight water damage to the inside rear lining. I have never seen a leak but there must be some moisture getting in.
I have just gone through hundreds of photos I have literally three of the van so I appreciate that this is a hard ask.

Looking at it, take whatever they offer.. Probably $1500 would be more than fair with rooted chassis and it looks like its been rolled over

Agree with that.

yep get rid of it for whatever they offer

It hasn't been rolled over, the jocky wheel slipped in that photo. That is why it is down at the front.
For $2500 I would think about selling it; for $1500 or less I wouldn't bother as I use it to store all out camping gear and in summer if we have a unbelievable hot night we turn on the air con and get a great rest.
Thank you for the replies. I didn't want to offend someone by saying I want x amount if they are thinking $500. As I said, I don't really want to sell it but for a price I would think about it. ;D

I bought a very similar 16ft van about 3 years ago years ago to strip out for hay storage. It had a good chassis and frame was OK, but the inside was ratty, cupboards fridge and cooktop were dead and aftermarket shagpile carpet. It also needed new tyres.
In Brissie it was advertised for $750 and I got it for $500.
Cheers

Honest if you got 2500 for it, I'd consider running naked down the main street of town...
Even if they offer you a grand, go and buy a Tin shed and put ya campin gear in that.. you win.

X100.. Take the money and run as it's probably the only time you will ever get an offer for it. ;D

I'd be tempted to pay the money for him NOT to sell it if you running naked down any street was the outcome.

You can do a lot better for $1500 than just watch Lost run naked down the street. ;D
