Why cant people understand how dangerous this can be???
Dude at work copped a mouth full of what he thinks may have been abuse (wasnt in n-grish)while he was in Cambodia Box Hill at lunchtime when some woman had been gone for at least 10 mins that he was standing there waitin for the cops in the blaring sun, no shade, kid crying and soaked in sweat, she just jumped in and drove off. .the cop that showed up said its stupidly common around there...
Then I look on the age and another one

Lock them up and take their kids away from them. Some people just don't deserve to have children.

Smash window and say kid must have done it
-
I spotted this kid screaming in a babies seat in the back of a car left un attended, it wasn't there long as I was only in the centre for about 1 minute and the car was not there when I pulled in so I waited for about 3 minutes, then went to pick up my phone to call the cops and a women came charging out with a DOCP badge on her shirt. That got me fired up took a photo of her yelling at me and emailed a letter of my concern along with a photo to the local department in the area.
Obviously in it for the money not for the welfare of the children.

Yeah we had a woman in our suburb lock her two kids in whilst she was shopping a couple of weeks ago. Kids were screaming, bystanders just about to break the window. She comes back and starts abusing them for 'interfering in her effing life' and 'why don't youse all just eff off'.
You need a licence to have a dog but you don't need one to have kids. I just don't undersrand it. Half the time I think they just have babies to get the dole money.
-
We used to respond to these several times a week in the warmer months with SES, over the few years we did break a few windows to save kids, most of the times the vehicles were gone before we arrived. It's frustrating to see parents doing this and really makes you question their rationale. It doesn't take long for a situation to turn nasty.

Most work cars have one of these now along with the mandatory safety gear.....itching to use it... ;D

Where would you stand legally if you rang the :police: and told them your about to smash a window to get a kid out of a hot car ? Would they support you , or charge you with destruction of property or some other B/S ?

Just use OHS law. (Safety) ;D ;D

Another thing is seeing young kiddies being subjected to Mum & Dads?? cigarette smoke in a car. I thought it was illegal to smoke in a car with kiddies but I see it all the time!

I would take a destruction of property charge to get kids out of a hot car any day. I would also take an assault charge for belting the F@#%$it for leaving them in there

-
I would break the window and worry about the rest later. But take a video first..
I don't understand some peoples thinking when they leave their children in a car
That Hooligan tool is awesome :cup:

They're a handy bit of kit, will make a big mess of a toughened window! Trust me! Great way to make a sunroof pretty quickly!

Looks familiar :police:
No qualms about breaking a window. Usually the fire brigade would turn up before us and they break in quite easily. But if they are not around I use the above.

I remember when we started running the Village Fire courses in the Shire and then Marty brought those out for the first time, it was nearly an all in to get hold of them first LOL!!!

Spring loaded centre punches do a nice job on vehicle windows ;D

one of these on your key ring works well. It also has a seat belt cutter

As someone who breaks glass on a regular occasion, I suggest if you are to break glass then break it in the corner. First of all it is supported there and it makes it easier to break but more importantly if you use the body work to support your hand then your hand will have less of a chance to go through the glass causing an injury to yourself.
Tinted windows are the best to break because the glass sticks together in one sheet because of the tinting.
The Hallagan tool is one of the basic hand tools we use in car accidents to make a gap to get the hydraulic tools in. A good bit of kit but not really the best tool for breaking glass.
KIDS IN CARS ON HOT DAYS! NO WAY!!!!

You would have to break the drivers window , would you not , just to remind them of there stupidity, whilst they drive home
I would have no hesitation in doing such a deed Hell I'd even do it for a cat , and I dislike cats .
Any retribution my way , I'm sure I can handle it ,if not I'll still sleep well at night
Cheers

Years ago our then two year old locked the falcon with him and 6mth old baby sister onboard, fortunately under shade. Wife rings and wants to know what to do, I suggested if not stressed ring the nrma. (Safer than breaking window with kids on board) any way lady on the phone only heard kids on board and despatched a service guy, wasn't interested in membership Apparently the nearest servicemen is to drop everything and make haste to the site to unlock the car. 10 points NRMA great community service.
