Title: Brake Controllers
Post by: thommo19 on December 15, 2014, 11:51:22 AM
I am looking to install an electric brake controller.
The best one I believe is the Tekonsha P3.On looking at the unit on the web it does seems like a large unit to install.
The 2 others I am considering is the Redarc tow Pro and the GSL unit.
Do you guys have any experience with these units or can you suggest others.
Thanks
Jeff

Been using a TOW PRO from redarc due to it being able to be installed anywhere in the vehicle and a small modern control for the dash suits my station wagon more than a bulky controller or jaycar looking knob.

Been happy with it no issues there is a thread running on the tow pro on here also that may be worth a read.

Gidday Thommo
dont know much about the gsl unit but red arc is top notch also being a remote head less to bang your knee on when getting in and out of the car

Got the P3 - great unit.

Does take a bit of space, though.

Thanks
I think that the Pe3 is good but take up a lot of space .
The P2 is smaller I should look at that as well.
The Redac  does seem good.

I have been using a tow pro for a couple of months now and have been very happy with it thus far.

The Tekonsha Primus IQ will do everything you'll ever need, without the bells and whistles.

Same here, Redarc Tow Pro which is fully proportional. I had the earlier version ebrh ?? which I wasn't a fan of but the new unit is as good a controller that I have ever had.

I have the P3 but I am spewing the tow pro came out 2 months later as it is much neater

If you are a non smoker removing the ashtray and installing the P3 in the slot is a neatway of doing it
