Title: So disappointed......
Post by: jayjay on December 03, 2014, 04:05:22 PM
Finally...... can see our way clear between our joint work committments to get away for a (long) weekend camping, and the weather forecast for nearly the whole of Vic is showers/rain.....for the whole 4 days!! A weekend where all the planets align like this, doesn't happen very often- but the last thing I want to do is stuff around with a wet canvas!! Feeling highly frustrated!

Ah the joys of living in Mexico  ;D. Come to Queensland, beautiful one day, perfect the next  :cup:

Seriously, get out there, doesn't take much effort to dry the canvas and as the others have said, it may not even rain.  Happy camping

Yeah. It happens. I don't worry about the rain. Some of the best weekends we have had away have either involved rain when leaving, setting up, relaxing around a camp fire, or packing up. Take it in your stride of the camping life and have fun. I remember a few years ago it was raining for the week before we were due to go away. I was so determined to go, I just told Lyndall we will keep driving till the rain stopped. It did and we had a great weekend.

plus the up side is you usually have the campsites to yourself when it's raining-

Change your work arrangements mate.
I did 30 years ago and have a long weekend every weekend.
Work to live not live to work.

Try to remember that the weather in Melb changes as you cross the Great Divide . On the Hume that's Clonbinane  just over Pretty Sally . The weather can be just GOO in town but as you cross over the blue opens up & away you go .
Treg up & make dust/mud  get out there . 8) 8) 8)

Yep just go worst case if you can buy/borrow a big tarp and pole, if its raining when you get there set the tarp up first and then camper underneath bit more time but dry camp if it turns out hot less heat in camper and you are still away

Ahhh just pick a spot and go anyway, Pre pack all the meals and a couple of bottles of each of your favourites for each day and sit back and enjoy some Quality us time with each other ..
You can worry about the wet canvas and clean up later after you get back .

Camping with the odd bit of rain has never been a problem for us. MUCH better than over 40 degrees and total fire ban

Head north. As suggested, very different weather.

Just go.....you will enjoy it no matter what happens with the weather

Thanks guys!
Looks like his lordship's work might torpedo it yet :(........ customers with late orders - might blow it all out of the water!
I'm afraid we will just have to take tomorrow as it comes, but if we can we will head north.
Sounds like the rain is going to be fairly widespread though- just hope that those who need it, get it.
