Title: Engel..... A bit disappointed. !
Post by: baldheadedgit on November 27, 2014, 04:22:51 PM
Lost the battery cover on my 40ltr... Rang local service agent.....no go, have to buy complete temp display... $100 +.     Na not paying that when all I need is a cover..
Tried Engel direct... No go either. Seems a 10 year old fridge is now to old for spares ?
Hmmm not to happy Jan......

I've got what you need right here, comes with a whole fridge around it, a cover and a two-zone, $800 for you if you pay cash

A small cap/cover that holds the battery in place

How do you get to the battery compartment in the first place. Had a quick look at mine and it didn't jump out at me. My display has gone out as well.

Jamie, we've had no rain here so no ice making aloud ....
Rotor138.... Take out the four machine screws that hold the hinges in place, then take out the two from the rear of the top cover also, bit of a jiggle and the top will lift of, then you will see the battery compartment behind the display...

See if you can find a local repairer (not necessarily an agent). They often have old bits and pieces they keep as spares.

Baldheadedgit,

If you get desperate, see if you can find someone with a 3D printer,
if you can borrow another cover they should be able to print you one.

That's the way Murphy's law works, if you haven't ordered the new one you would never have found the the old one.
