I also use motormouth. They send me an email each morning with the cheapest, local to me, pulp98 prices. Makes it easy to save 18cents per litre.

I am lucky to live near a popular truck stop  where the diesel prices are always nearly the cheapest on the coast, I like to buy my diesel from the one place (unless on a trip of course) so I can easier prove where I got the fuel from in the event of issues......

Looks like the price may go down more yet due to OPEC not reducing the output of oil supply in face of the glut currently goin on.......if only I could store some cheap fuel eh?

Wholesale price is down 30% they reckon.  So why has the retail price at the pump not reflected this????   ESPECIALLY DIESEL???  We are being Ripped Again.

Thought that this thread might be the appropriate place to share a cheap fuel story ...

Have some friends who are presently touring South America on a motorcycle.

Presently in Venezuela - where ULP is $0.01 per litre - yes you read that right - they posted a photo of the fuel pump today where they added 10 litres - and it was all of 10 cents !!

Check out the global fuel prices - we are being ripped off bigtime !

I always buy my fuel from a very small servo on the left, just as you drive into Camden, NSW ( Argyle Street, Camden)

Last filled up a week ago and paid $1.33 per litre for my diesel.  Never had any problem with their diesel

And still no change to the price of diesel.  $1.45 ish.  Is it made of something other than oil??
What is going on??!
Unleaded just under $1.30 in some places around Brisbane.
If anyone knows someone who works for a current affair type of show - investigate that....

Diesel has been slowly falling from $1.619 a year ago to $1.439 in Renmark this week.

It makes a difference when you are putting 135 - 140ltrs into the Prado each fill.

Poggy - yes it's come down - according to these figures - by 11.1%.   Wholesale price is down 30% plus -  who's not playing ball??   I'm just a casual observer and I may be on the wrong track with these figures - someone prove me wrong - but Haaaahhh

These are a few comments from a mate who runs 14 bobcat/excavator combos.

1.
"I must say recent developments in Oil Prices and the behaviour of OPEC have me giggling. Now that there is a real competitor for their oil, the only way for price is down. They chose to keep producing despite the low price, because THEY WOULD LOSE MARKET SHARE! Costs will follow, and the Global Economy will get a shot in the arm. The World is awash with oil.

Man the Greenies must be pissed, LOL!"

Someone asked who was the competitor.

2.
"The USA. Fracking is producing soooo much oil, and there is soooo much of it. Wait for Australia, Europe, Russia, the UK to start as well. The Arab monopoly is almost dead in the water."

Rod.

The OPEC countries are trying to bankrupt the us companies as the US cost to produce is more expensive,

saw plenty of places between Dubbo and Brisbane selling for not much less then that in the last 24hrs, so you're not alone in those prices. Cheapest we saw between Melbourne and Brissy in last 2 days on our inland run was $1.13ltr I think it was, and that was in NSW down towards Victorian boarder from memory, got dearer the further North we went with most around $1.24ltr

Good score,
But it's still about $1.20 on average here in Grafton.
Should be about 70 cents going be past figures of dollar and price per barrel.
What can I do about it, SFA
I need it, and they know it.
I do about 400k's a week on average just going to work & back. 91 80 series 1htd(8km/l or there abouts).
Yes it has helped heaps since it topped $1.70 per litre.
But why are we being screwed  ???
Sorry stupid question.  :-[

Geez i've been happy my local BP has been $1.16.9 since well before Xmas, but that just shows how much the servo's are ripping people off when other places can sell it for that price. I know the servo at Aussie World up the Sunny Coast has been $1.11.9 all around the Xmas period, which makes you wonder how other places here in Brisbane have been $1.29.9 for the same stuff.

I never pay too much attention to fuel prices. $1:38 at Caltex, Eden. Only realised when i looked at the pump after filling up. (Unleaded was $1:19)
The 2 other servos in Eden were $1:12  & $1:19 for diesel.

Canberra is an interesting place fuel wise.
In the burbs it is about $1.22 to $1.25 but if you head to Fyshwick Metro has it for about $0.10 - $0.15 cheaper and Costco is about $1.00 at the moment.

I don't understand how the price can vary so much. Two BP servos in Queanbeyan have a $0.10 price difference.

Well for me this is cheap.
1.36 Darwin / Katherine.
1.39 Kununurra.
1.48 Fitzroy crossing.
1.45 Roebuck ( Broome ).

And people in the eastern sides think there getting ripped.
Darwin and Katherine haven't changed for over month an a half.
But up in my neck of the woods, these are the cheapest.

so not Brisbane is what you're confirming...lol
I'll take your word on the naming of the area thing, when it comes to traversing that area I wind the windows up and lock the doors of the vehicle I'm in, and have the kids on the roofrack with rifles at the ready to pick of local bandits, just like being in an old stage coach.  ;D

I got pulled over for speeding through caboolture once... the police officer asked if I had a good reason for speeding... I told him to have a look around and he let me off

;D  You want to be in Roper Bar.  ;D
If you don't want to pay their price, will they let you have any Fuel?

I think it will still be over $2.50 per Ltr. at William Creek too, no matter which Fuel you want.
If you want to keep travelling, you pay.  It's that simple.

99.9cl for diesel in Maryborough Qld, bit less in Tiaro sth of Mbh, but was aghast couple of weeks ago, Tiaro united servo 98.9cl, driving to eumundi to pick up new camper, had to take it to local servo to use compressor to pump up camper tyres, not 10mins from highway same united servo company, 1.25.9 for diesel. someone is having a go at the locals down that way, also in Brissy on monday diesel upwards of 1.15cl when Mbh 99.9c. some big rorts happening out there.

In Alice Springs united has taken over one of the small servos near Heavy Tree Gap (on the way to Ross Hwy, where many of the caravan parks are) Unlike every other outlet in town (which have had Diesel at 1.38 for a few years, not much fluctuation) they are selling it at 1.14, and taking coles or woolies dockets. So anyone passing though it's worth making the trip. Not sure if the others will come down.

In Geelong at the moment we just had an independent servo open up. A lot of servos have matched their price of 89.9 per litre. Let the price war begin.
