A bot over 12months ago I bought a freezer trailer from QLD and towed it home to NSW. I got a blue slip but time ran out so its been sitting in the yard. Its now out of rego and I want to get it sorted but I'm not sure how to proceed:
1. Do I hand QLD plates into RTA ?
2. Go get blue slip and weight slip then try to register,
3. Do I say its out of rego, haven't swapped it over to NSW in time and what do I do.
Trailer costs 7k.
Can someone please advise on what to do.
Thanks

Hand plates to RTA
Get a new slip.
Take old rego papers and new slip to RTA.
Bend over. Enjoy. Get plates. All good.

Thanks Daz
Whats strange is I didnt get any rego papers, I got the VIN plate and paperwork for that, I asked about the rego papaers and he said they didnt give him any, just the plates, maybe they were posted out after that as it was only registered the day before I pickup it up. So confusing.

As long as you have a signature on something that you own it you should be good.

Ps. You will never ever get it done at the RTA on the one day. It's number 3 on their "core values".

I got an email receipt off the seller, maybe I should just sign it myself and be done with it.

You will need a weigh bridge ticket if you don't have the old rego papers and you will definitely need a receipt.
They will run the vin number through their system and it should show the trailers history.
Take a packed lunch with you and be prepared to give your first born for a ritual sacrifice.
