Amazingly close game, but did we really expect any better from the refs? :'(

can hardly blame the refs for tonight's loss, that last call is a throw of the dice any other week which way they call it. If there's the slightest hint it went forward they'll call it that way, especially in a final. Cowboys lost the game in first 30 minutes, bit hard to come back from 30-0 down any week let alone a final

seems like you are forgetting the blatant obstruction by kenny-dowell 15m out and the obvious SBW knock-on.

the obstruction is called every week of the season and now suddenly not.  give me a break.

the penalty puts them up 2 with 10 to go.  you'd back them in from there...

they did come back from 30-nil and were dudded, again.

How's the Kenny-Dowell shepherd and the Sonny-Bill knock on. And when Louie is facing his own try line I can't see how it went forward.  You're right that the Cowboys should never have let the score get to 30 nil, but bloody hell what an effort to get back even. They have to have some karma sooner or later

This is not a rant, but I am sick and tired of bu775hit rulings by the NSWRL.
At the end of the day even if it was a Broncos vs Cowboys grand final, the game would be played in Sydney.
You guessed it, not a happy camper.

Sounds like I switched this game off too early, like 30 nil early.

Its not their fault your guys can't play any good.  ;D

Ya gunna be really dirty when ya miss out on the 2015 Nat Meet as well. I mean really, how could anyone trust North Qld to run something after that poor display.

Some people should say nothing and let us all think their an idiot, instead of opening their mouth and proving it.......:-)

I think for the game to have any credibility in the future, we need to have birds eye cameras like the tennis tournaments do. This way they could look directly above as well for forward passes, knock ons, etc.

It's funny how the video ref can't rule on a forward pass but they can determine weather a ball has gone forward after brushing a players arm. could they not use the same thought process for both rulings?

the funny thing is:  if gavin badger was certain enough that it was a knock-on to tell shayne hayne that he should send it to the video ref as a no-try, then why didn't they just rule the knock-on in the first place?

all he was saying was 'check it, check it'.

should have been a try ruling to the video ref.  that made all the difference.  easier for the refs to keep the no-try ruling then try to take a try ruling off the cowboys...

I gave up on league many years ago.   The NRL has had so many chances to improve the game overall, Clubs players etc, not just 80 minutes once a week and every time they keep fumbling the ball themselves.  Just because the players get way over paid does not make them or the sport any more professional.  The whole thing is a joke

Nah stopped following it when they got all upset about Super League.  They saw their empire being attacked and they have never moved forward from there

Credibility? that was lost 20+ yrs ago then there was "SUPER LEAGUE"!!!..

why do they have the position of hooker anymore, whats the point of a scrum...

You can have all the cameras, video replays, there will always be errors. Video ref's get it wrong with 200000 camera angles and replys...

.... but how long do you want a game to go for? You want it to turn into one of those stupid American games with time outs, a stop and start after every play/tackle/kick/pass/run/dummy etc... where 1 hour can last 12?

On the Cowboys - 3yrs in a row is far beyond what any team should be expected to put up with being arse****ed by **** decisions.. but all games are full of **** decision no matter what sport.

having said that, GO THE CHICKENS!!!

Funny how die hard Cowboys fans are crying foul over the disallowed try, yet listening to Triple M this morning all the ex players (qlder's included) are saying it was a knock on and the Cowboys lost the game in first 30 minutes. The one thing they agree on is the obstruction should have been a penalty to the Cowboys, which i agree with, but there is no weekly consistency so it doesn't surprise me it wasn't called, it's hardly a Cowboys conspiracy thing. Sonny Bills knock on / penalty is a 50/50 call if they get that right each week, so hardly a contentious point to say cost the game, as they regularly call those as a penalty.
Even though I wanted NQ to win the game, their first half performance makes it hard for me to feel they were ripped off with the loss. There's no doubting they copped a few tough calls last night, but that happens most weeks in the competition, not just to the Cowboys.

Cowboys should be called Cowgirls. outplayed and beaten by a better team overall. now lets see the origin cup is returned to NSW. the NRL cup will be returned to NSW. the trophy cabinets looking pretty bare and collecting dust up that end of the world. I think they even lost the netball trophy.
its Campbell Newmans fault, its gods fault, its always  somebody elses fault. hahahaha.
anyway off to play in the sandpit with my truck, have a great weekend

Im a massive cowboys fan and accept that last nights  call was. 50/50, the previous years were just incompetence.

If the on field ref had called try when it was sent upstairs i think it would have been given, hence the 50/50.

We also did score a try of a forward pass too. Any way yes I'm shattered once again but must admit there seems to be a different feel and culture about the club and now cant wait for next year!!!

we've still got the women's state of origin title up here, their 14 year winning streak makes the guys 8 years seem a little ho hum actually...lol.

yep the better team lets a 30 point lead get brought back to 30 all, instead of putting the other team away.  Can't let that happen too many times. Now get rid of the Sea Eagles because they fans don't travel. best for a Roosters/Souths Grand final and fill that stadium.

Being a cowboys supporter I took this away from the game.

They made the mistake of giving away 30 points which in a final is hard to come back. I give them credit for coming back to be equal but a few silly mistakes made it hard. Regarding the refs, no one is perfect and its easy to look back and say they should have done this etc.

It was a fantastic game, a real arm chair wrestle, and one of the best comebacks ever in a final. As much as we are passionate of our teams, you will always have calls for and against.

As they say its the bounce of the ball.

Thanks for a great season Cowboys and JT, what a player. Paul Green, as a coach, you have done well.

Yeah i agree Mark, on the knock on i can live with the call, all through the regular season any ball that hit the arm then hit the ground had a 99% chance of being call a knock on.
