Title: 4wd wagon middle row Legroom
Post by: MattNQ on August 02, 2014, 12:33:02 AM
After driving to Brisvegas a few weeks ago, the complaints from the middle row peanut gallery are getting louder.
Seems my  GU Patrol is getting  a little cramped for son #1 who is 15 & over 6ft.

Now myself & the missus are not short, so pushing the front seats forward doesn't work well.

Been considering changing the tug over for a while, mainly due to Nissan's antiquated 50-50 split seat arrangement, designed for velociraptors I believe.

100 series is a logical choice (despite the Toyota badge)  but are they actually any bigger?
I suspect the current crop of dual cabs are all too cramped (barring the Fords F150 & above)

I have read the 200 series LandKluger has adjustable middle row seats? Bit exy, but the petrols can be found for $35-$40k

Anyone else got tall kids? Does one have to go monocoque like the Pajero to get best legroom?

Go the Paj  , & don't get to worried about leg room . Very soon tall son will be too cool to go anywhere with the Olds .
He will get a car of his own & you will hear him gripe about fuel prices  :cup:

I too am over 6 foot tall and on one mine site I work at we used the 100 series Toyota as man carriers , there is bugger all room in the back seats.

Give the young fella a cement tablet and a glass of water and tell him to toughen up.  ;D

Yeah, he already tries to opt out of most things we do. Wasn't happy to be dragged to Bris to watch 3 days of netball. I keep telling him life is full of stuff we don't want to do, so suck it up.
Bit scary picturing him behind the wheel.... but that's next year's worry :)

Or a Y62 pootrol (don't worry about the fuel economy, worry about the relentless shame of continuing to drive a Nissan), this article describes the second row leg room as 'Opulent' and considerably more spacious than the 200 series.

I'm over 6ft and the leg room in the rear of my dual cab bt50 is quite good...
