Have a 2012 Colorado ,heard a nosie coming from the back of the car got out and checked it was a very noisy pick up {pump ?}in the fuel tank took it to holden yep pick on the way out they checked the availability of the part "oh sorry sir nil stock australia" you got to be kidding no sorry sir there is none in australi and we dont expect part to arrive for 3 and a half weeks once it is ordered" now you must be kidding sorry sir that is the expected wait time on parts that we dont stock,I asked what parts they stock and they said not many but we will call you when it arrives and it would be best not to drive the car untill the part is fitted because it can pack it in any time.Thank you for chosing holden what a $#%^&##&* joke.

Had the same trouble on a 2013 Colorado. Get 3km out of town and all you got was static on the radio .Went back 4 weeks later after getting a phone call and sat in the waiting room for 2 hours. The manager came over to tell me they ordered the wrong part. A 2012 aerial. Another 4 weeks and back again for the right one. Went for its first service, got home and the centre cap is missing off the front wheel. Went in the next day , they could not find it and a new one would be 4-6 weeks. There was a new Colorado out the back so I told them to pull one off that. They said no so I went to my car for a screw driver, and started walking to the new Colorado. When they asked me what I was doing ,I told them I was getting my centre cap. About 15 seconds later the workshop manager ran past me , pulled off the cap , put it on my car and apologised for any trouble. :angel:

If you want reliable spares supply you need to buy a real Aussie car, like a Toyota.............. ;D Not those foreign Holden things.

yeah we sold the toyotoe because it was un realiable im glad we still got the jeep

Or how about something with a bit of guts , like me F100 with a 378 Windsor , or my 66 Chev Impala with the original 327. The Holden is cheaper to feed. >:D

It's probably the same with all models these days.
Took the Kluger in for it's 70K service with a complain about a knocking noise in the steering. I had googled the issue and found that it is very common complaint with the fix a new intermediate steering shaft. When I went to pick it up the staff told me "the mechanics have order a replacement intermediate steering shaft and you're 15th on the list. It could take up to three months for your turn to come up".
How's that for service ??? ??? ??? >:(

Yeah range Rover water pump 3 years ago. Local dealer quoted 3 months to order it in. Rang the UK and had it delivered in 4 days air freight and all up 30% cheaper than the local dealer.

Jeep got lots of spares there are lots & lots of them sitting around , they cant all have the same problem . All you need do is rip off the damaged part, pick the part you need . Job Done . As long as its not an engine , drive train , electrical problem or something between the bumperbars . :cheers:

Yep, I've been there before when we had our Nissan Pathfinder. I'm not going to get technical but it was some kind of hose connector in the cooling system broke, no parts in Australia so had to be ordered from Japan. It was only 3 weeks later when the car was still sitting at the dealer untouched that we found out the parts are ordered by boat! 8 weeks it took for the part to arrive! I will never buy another Nissan ever again.

On the other hand Dad had a Fairlane in the AU days. Auto box died. I think it lost reverse. He took it back under warranty and the dealer pulled the auto from a new one and he had the car back very quickly.

Is not a good service model when a customer goes into the dealership armed with some internet research on a common problem to be given a good old look by the girl at the desk as if anyone without a uniform has no idea what is under the skin of a car. Then they tell you it's not possible to get a part in a hurry when you can sit in the waiting room, order it on your phone and have it at the front door in a week at 50% of the price.
I used to keep going back thinking they'll get it right this time, not any more.
It's not like it's a service industry or anything.

Sign of the times. It costs a lot of money to have a huge supply of spares sitting waiting on the shelf when modern cars are ver reliable.
Although, I did go into a toyota dealer a few months ago looking for some 100series LC rims to go on my camper... (Keep in mind these LC's haven't been made in about 10 years!), well old mate says, yeah how many you want and they will be here this afternoon!

It was pulled from an LTD from memory. They would have ordered a new box for it. No harm done assuming they did it properly.

Years ago had headlight relay fail on car that was only a couple of weeks old. Was told it would take few days to get part. Asked service manager what company supplied vehicle he drove. Was same model Just higher spec level. After discussion & me refusing to leave until fixed because I now knew where they could get a part very quickly, a working relay was now in my car.

This may be true, but the flip side of not keeping stores locally should be express shipping. I can get a big box of stuff delivered from the other side of the world in a week, why can't a business that requires lots of parts get a big box in a few days to head office, then ship it around the country to the local stealerships.

i agree oldmate they are lazy and dont give a flying kanga they have my money so why worry the say, i can shop else where but the same will happen they are all tarred with the same dont give brush

I work in a major dealership in a parts department,I can assure you all it's not the dealer that is making the money and making the rules for the supply of the parts.
A lot of the manufactures realy need to look at what they doing,and what parts they hold,in stock.

Haven't had that problem with the triton but most of the time now I order my own parts online for a fraction of the cost and get a good quality mechanic to fit it all

But that will cost two arms and three legs. Or you can get one from the warehouse in 3-5 weeks for just one arm and one leg.

I work in a major dealership in a parts department,I can assure you all it's not the dealer that is making the money and making the rules for the supply of the parts.
A lot of the manufactures realy need to look at what they doing,and what parts they hold,in stock.
I also work for a major dealership also in parts and can agree with the above comment. It also depends on the parts guy you speak too. You can get some that will help and others the will go the extra mile to help out. I know I am the guy that will take that extra step to try and find somewhere to get the part you need.

We've actually been considering buying our '95 Jackaroo back as it was a great car...bit underpowered for our lifestyle now, but was an awesome car when not towing. Stookie HATES the 105....we've had just about everything but the engine and gearbox replaced now, so we just keep our fingers crossed :/

Years ago I had a Daihatsu Feroza. Brilliant little car. Anyway...I had an accident in it and it needed a new front bonnet. Daihatsu rang me to say the were very sorry but they had a bit of a run on bonnets recently and mine was going to be a 6-8 week wait. For my trouble they loaned me one of their demo fleet Ferozas. I couldn't believe it..!
Now that's customer service...! :cup:
